Liked it alot until the epilogue, then I got confused..... until the end of it, I think the epilogue spoiled it abit.
I know he writes... elsewhere but not that often. I hope he is okay. I really love his stories.
The story was great till he got rid of the bitch first wife. Then you added too many twists and the plot got weaker and weaker and weaker. In the end i was wishing it would end one way or another. A good example of how to start an amazing story and a bad exmaple of how to ruin in the end.
Twists not always make a story better, in this case, they amde it worse..
More about Betty& Alan, including more than 1 baby...
No one has the right to label a human being a cockroach. I will never read your work again. One star...
Maybe one of SS06’s best. I miss having new stories by him. And by the way, Gooner Fool, don’t let the door hit you, etc, etc. A lot of us around here like the Stangster’s stories a lot.
Well the ending had me a little confused but it worked out well. An enjoyable read.
Really enjoyed this story. I understand that this person has not added any new stories in quite a while. I hate that. I love reading a story from a two-person split POV!!!
An unexpected plot, Question who can you trust. It seems the school of hard knocks helped Betty mature. Isn't true for too? Good job PS Alan is the hero maybe we can take a lesson from him!
This one may be your best story. An emotional rollercoaster with two broken people brought together through fate. A man with nothing to live for and a woman with nothing of her own. These types of romance stories always get to me.
Incredibly well done story.
I love these kinds of stories also, fate in meeting your life long partner, exes be damned.
Had an ex that got tired of me and wanted to fuck around back when I was in my late 30s. She divorced me, figured I'd never get married again. Two years later met and married a woman with four kids. They are wonderful kids, the marriage lasted 40 years before she passed. Tears.
I absolutely love this story, the ending was awesome. You really know how to pull heartstrings. Hallmark could turn this into one of their movies easily.
STUPID ENDING WITH BURYING TGE WHORE SHARON.....STILL DONT GET EHY THE DUMB BITCH BETTY WAS ENTERTAINING HER.
DALE WAS SUCH A LOSER...RANAWAY FROM HOME AND SUDDENLY LINING UP OLD MEN FOR HIS MOTHER...TRASH
Beautiful, tear jerker too. I really appreciate your writing style and ability...!
Excellent story. No issues with the ending, a little confusing but surely that was the intention. 5 stars.
you had an absolutely great story going and then just completely bombed the ending.
My first story from this author. Will not be my last. Well crafted going from high drama to subtle comedy. The ending was a tad scattered but certainly not a deal breaker.
Fun and lovely story. Tear jerker and laugh jerker! The poor guy was a good guy but sure insecure around women. But they found happiness and brought new life into a loving situation.
What a wonderful story, it was well written and had a twist at the end that almost made you think it was Betty that got killed. At any rate it was a very entertaining story that I really enjoyed. Well done 5 stars
Enjoyed the story. Was caught up in the interactions between Betty and Alan and how they enjoyed each other though both were so guarded. The son Dale comes off as such a loser of a person. How Dale could be her son is mystery to me. Great story in all. Thanks for sharing us. John
Thanks for a very well written story!!! I was impressed with the banter between the characters and the well written misleading ending.
A great story line that is well thought out and written. No contradictions as to what and whom the characters presented are,nor to any earlier sections of the tale. A believable story that made it all the more readable. This is the way fiction should be presented.
Alan was actually married to Betty a long time before they made it official. She as much as told her son she wasn't leaving her HUSBAND to go to Florida. She couldn't get an older man, she was married to Alan...
Damn I like your stories. It's well written. Has parts that make me laugh and parts where I could drop a tear. Keep up the good work.
Couple of continuity errors with ages/timing
But other than that a really good read.
Another winner. And that might have been the best final paragraph of any of your stories. Thanks!
Well written with unique setting and full characters. Wonderful story full of compassion, romance, and love. Thanks
Was about to be a one star until you cleared up what happened to Betty. Five star story
Second time around for this one, a truly romantic story, and plenty of sex, a little to much for an old man.
Great story but the end was stupid.
Too much contradiction in writing when Betty was meeting Sharon and Marilyn regularly and then the end where she has been feeding and housing the skank Sharon.
You’re an asshole for that troll at the end haha, but other than that it was a great story
Finally an author who writes a story with meat. Great story line great plot n great ending . Great job kno ur hard work was enjoyed n appreciated.
I wish I could have given it a six.
I thought the ending was a little convoluted, but loved the Pretty Woman story line.
I enjoy the longer stories, this being a good example. The reason I did not give a five was the lack of Alans confidence, although understandable to a degree, was overdone. A man as smart, competent, decisive, insightful, sensitive, funny, a great lover (though over a small sample of women), would not crumble emotionally to that extent portrayed. The two times Betty's purported traffic death on 8 Mile was used lacked belivability. The antagonism between Debra and Sharon should have been developed further to create belivable doubt and suspense of outcome at the conclusion.
Decent story, though I think it could have been told in fewer words. Also, how come it took nearly two years of fucking for her to get pregnant.
Loved the story! The progression of the tale went slightly askew when Betty’s son and family arrived. Sharon’s death seemed unnecessary. A bit of backstory on why she came to that circumstance would be welcome.
An enjoyable fairy tale- a riff on “Pretty Woman”, but the ending made no sense.
Love can be two-faced at any given moment in time, Yet the pain it leaves behind last far longer than the memories that brought it forth in first the first place. Time is the one element that changes how we feel, what we choose to do, and to try to fix ourselves for there usually is no us at this point.
Oh a long twisted read, but well put together, nice character selection, good descriptions, and that ending, did make me laugh.
A bit disjointed in several places, one standing out blatantly was Sally referring to Dale's mom: "And the sooner we can get our own place," said Sally. "I like livin' with your aunt and uncle, but you know... A woman needs her own space."
Ok, all good otherwise, thank you for the great story.
There was so much to like here that I can forgive the bullpoop ending & rate it 5 stars. I enjoyed it.
Bill S.
Great story, I have read twice. I miss your writing, thanks for the writing of the past.
Just read it for the second time and I loved it even more, almost enough to get past this weird thing that you have for mustangs.
5 stars but disappointed there wasn't a chapter of him fucking the tailpipe of his mustang
Tis my second read of this tale and it's still worth 5-stars. My question is, why does that 68 Mustang have cats, they didn't come on it. My 68 Cougar xr7 (dressed up Mustang) ain't got'em and it's as much a toy as that Stang. Waaay different engine though, 351C 4B instead of 5.0.......
End of Ford commercial!
This was a great story!!! Five stars for sure!!! I loved the story and how well developed the characters were. By the end of the story, I felt I knew Alan and Betty. You are a very gifted writer and I loved this story. Thanks!!!
Seriously one of the best stories I've read here!! If only there was a 10 star rating because 5 is not enough.
Awright, Stang. This is the first story of yours that I've read. It puts most of the stuff on this site to shame. It's great to see that your work is appreciated by many readers. (Forget the petty carping about this detail or that, e.g., "Why did it take 2 years for her to get pregnant with all that nonstop fucking?") Here's the deal. I have read a bunch of the comments, but I haven't yet seen a comment that marks off the distinguishing feature of this story (and hopefully of at least some of your other ones), namely that there is a clear distinction made between love and lust (we have both, and we nurture both, but they are not the same thing). Typical of stories on this site is that (and here I have to choose one genre to make the point) some teenage girl seduces her brother or stepdad; they get over their guilt because their lust feels SO GOOD and now they are in love. Really??!! (I am probably overgeneralizing, but you get the point.) It is NOT FASHIONABLE TODAY to build any story (any!) around the nurturing of a tendril of real love to its full bloom. Why not? Is it because then they will live happily ever after, God forbid??? Anyways, I don't want to say more right now. More than five stars.
A man crying over money spent on a bitch he hates is the truest truism ever 😂
This has been thoroughly enjoyable story! It's in my Favorites. Well done! Finn
Too much fun reading.
I had to stop and take a break when I read "He was swabbing my deck like a fleet full of sailors"
Still laughing!
Great story.
The Prodigal mother finds a home. She is so grateful she makes the house and the man a home and mate. Good things happen to good people. Nice story.
