an intimate view of the Australia we have to search for and from which the country's character was created years ago. This is the real thing. I swoon over the 'feel' of her fear, stuck on the road, with the dust, and the town a days walk away. I am from New York, but my grandmother lived in Lismore and then Armidale for the last 20 years of her life as I learned about the world. This is not Bondi or Double Bay but the real thing. My kind of man and my kind of woman.
