Character development is off to a good start. I like reading about the character's thoughts and emotional and mental development.

All mothers and sons should experience such uninhabited sex, reminds me of my mother and myself except we teased for three years.

Everyone has an opinion, or fav way that something is written. I don't think the author 'messed up' writing that way at all. I actually liked it a lot! Besides, it could only be considered messed up if you had specifically asked it to be written a certain way and the writer did something completely different! Hehe.
