"Oh, Phil. I love you!"
I blinked at her. Did she really mean that? Or was that the afterglow talking? I tensed up for a fraction of a second, before I realized that I...
"I love you too," I said.
We lay there, contented, for a few more minutes. Then Sophia asked, "Are we still friends?"
"Of course we're still friends. We'll always be friends," I said with absolute certainty.
"That's not what I meant," she said. "I mean... will we start... will we keep on... Are we now..."
I thought for a moment. "I don't know. The only thing I know right now is there's no place I'd rather be than in your bed, bare-ass fucking naked, with you curled up in my arms."
"That's good enough for me," she said.
Sophia rested an arm across my chest. I turned out the light next to the bed.
"Happy Valentine's Day," I whispered to her.
"Happy Valentine's Day," she responded, then turned her head and kissed me lightly on the lips.
We both fell fast asleep to the sound of the frozen rain.

Anonymousalmost 7 years agoI gave this story 4 stars. I liked it a lot, I just wish it would have went into a little bit of
"the day after". I would have liked to have read about how they handled their first night of unbridled passion the next day. Were they embarrassed about it, did it damage their friendship, did they become full-time lovers, or what?

slyc_willieabout 16 years agoI loved the attention you placed on Phil's feelings, the reluctance between both he and Sophia at first. Nice long, teasing build-up until the consummation. Very hot.
Anonymousover 16 years agoAn awesome story! Realistic enough that it is very enjoyable, without having an ending which gets so far ahead of itself as to promise a "happy ever after" conclusion, but leaving room for the readers to draw their own interpretations.
