yes, Katherine was killed, but remember Cynara was talking to a guy named Wes at the manor. He was in his 50s or so. He told her about meeting Katherine after going back in time from 1980. So he's younger now, but being that Cynara heard his story and she's meeting the younger Wes, the outcome may be different.
