First off I like the setup for your story for the most part. Grammar seem great and your story was pretty easy to follow.

My only critic is your transition into sex. I felt there should have been a lot more in between the after quarantine and Christmas. I mean. They haven't seen one another in a year, they had some sexual tension beforehand. Add a bit of seduction, maybe a bit of romance. Have him cook her a meal she like to show he cares. Hold her during a movie while they're quarantine alone during the cold winter nights. do you see what I'm getting at? Too me I feel like a mother and son crossing that line should be more than just a kiss under a mistletoe and him admitting he loves her.

He can still admit that but she can think back to those cold winter nights in his arms and add to the climax of mother and son.
