Your story had everything good one needs: a knight in shining armor; a damsel in distress and a faithful dog!

Very good story and true to life and I love the part about the dog and cat. There are people in life that are true assholes and need to be in prison and the dog a true hero. Good writing and keep up the good work.
A more recent author (2 years) has written a lovely little romance with hardly an errors.
I put it on y own favourite list. I highly recommend it.
The Hoary Cleric
This was an enjoyable read, with interesting characters, a bit of tension, and a nice happy ending, so thank you for writing and thank you for sharing your work.
Very, very close to how my wife and I met, and all the crap we had to go thru, including the learning-the-awkward's. She's gone now, for 4 years, but I remember those day's and what we did, and had to go thru, to make it all work. God do I miss her and all she was,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
This story pretty much had everything. A blue collar guy, house with a fireplace and a garage, a great dog, a cat and a beautiful loving woman. Anything else would just be extra gravy on a perfect plate. It probably helps that I'm familiar the area.
Lovely story. The pacing, especially at the end was a bit off, but nothing to detract from how enjoyable the main characters are. Thank you for not killing Chance. That would've been easy to do for pathos, but wasn't (IMO) the right decision. Great story - I'll have to keep an eye on your works. 5*
This author seems to specialize in ordinary people doing ordinary things, but become more than that when they are under pressure. A great lesson for all of us. 4*
