Well, cannot judge how "authentic" Jessis issues are as i am no expert and have not identified her problems, so far. Maybe some relevant experts can shed some light here ... possibly with teh benefit of hindsight?

Anyway, I appreciate the author venturing into a bit off and awkward character and relationship dynamics. This adds some creative twists and turns to the plot. Instead of being puzzled and lost, I was drawn down deeper into this fascinating tale. In my view, this reflects outstandig writing.
