Fools Day is a strange concept. A sadistic one too, if I may add. Why celebrate making fun of others when we are being made fun of everyday? Every single one of us is being taken for a ride every single day, either by our employers, or by unscrupulous scamsters, sometimes by our kin, and most often by Lady Luck. Let's face it -- we are being subjected to some cruel joke or the other on a daily basis. But probably the worst joke of all is Deception. Coupled with Loneliness, deception can ruin your very perception of humankind. Less lonely people survive it somehow. But the loneliest among us can have their entire lives fall apart in days.

This is the story of one such lonely individual who was subjected to the joke of Deception on April Fools Day. This story is inspired by the scourge of Loneliness and deception that affect urban life today.
