Due to the number of abbreviations, ship listings, and list of characters, in this story, I include a glossary that is now in a stand-alone chapter called 'All That Glitters: Notes'. Any and all information that you want or need to know about the series is included in Notes. It will be updated frequently simply by re-issuing the chapter to Literotica.

There is little attempt to explain the back story, so it is necessary to read previous chapters to fully understand where we are.

As before, I claim sole responsibility for the story line. This story is a fantasy, with no basis in reality. Any similarity that you may perceive to current events, people, or situations real or imaginary is completely unintended. Look no further than the story line for its intent and purpose.

A big shout out to SaddleRider for all the help she has provided in editing. With her guidance, I'm making fewer and fewer errors, but she still finds them. If you find any errors still left in this chapter, they are mine.

High Orbit, Green's World, The Harn System, Twenty Light Years from Terra

PV The Trine came into being in high orbit above Green's World and requested permission to land at the shuttle port near the Malihan Regional Hospital.

"Green's World Planetary Control, this is PV The Trine, Capt. Marisa Bellany commanding. We request permission to land at the Malihan Shuttle Port as we have a patient and medical staff on board that Malihan Hospital are waiting for, over."

"Control, roger, you have permission to land at the shuttle port, follow the indicated course to your destination. There is a great deal of traffic in low orbit and we do not want any accidents. Transmitting course now, over."

"Trine, roger, we have the course and are plotting it now, moving to low orbit as per directions, out."

PV The Trine made its way down to low orbit and finally to the planet's surface following the prescribed route, setting down at the shuttle port twenty minutes later.

Kome-Nar gave his mate and co-Ambassador, Nar-Tre Sai-Rai a hug and rubbed foreheads with her, the Pod-Drran version of a tender kiss. She was returning to Liramor-23 with the ship while he remained on Green's World for his medical recovery. It was a difficult parting as both knew he would be on Green's World for several months during his recovery and the required physio after.

Kome-Nar gave the members of the trine a hug and turned to leave. Kayl-Ur and Hend-Ur gave them hugs as well, as did many of the medical team staying on planet. It wasn't that they had formed a bond of intimacy with the members of the trine, they simply wanted to feel what it was like to hug a human, as they were so much different than Pod-Drran.

The ship was far emptier as it leapt back into space for the next part of its journey.

Malihan Regional Hospital, Harn City, Green's World

A nervous Kome-Nar Sai-Ro entered the Malihan Regional Hospital to be greeted by Dr. Aurelie Pendame, the Senior Administrator of the hospital, and Dr. Morina Holdar, Chief Surgeon and Teaching Doctor at Malihan University Hospital, the university wing.

"Good day, Ambassador Kome-Nar Sai-Ro, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir," Dr. Pendame said, bowing to Kome-Nar. "The hospital is eager to see if our treatment can be converted to assist the Pod-Drran, allowing for medical recovery of lost limbs. This would be a boon to your people should it be something we can do."

"You are not certain it can be done?" Kome-Nar asked.

"On the contrary, we are confident we can do this, however, the DNA of our two species does not work exactly the same, Kome-Nar. We have already received samples of Pod-Drran DNA from Pod-Saar and have been assessing it for several weeks now in preparation for your arrival. Our tests have indicated that we need to amend our procedures to accommodate the Pod-Drran DNA, but that we should be able to transfer the process," Dr. Pendame stated.

"In the meantime, I will turn you over to the doctor of record for your procedure, Dr. Morina Holdar, our Chief of Surgery and Surgical Instructor," Dr. Pendame pointed out Dr. Holdar and, with a nod, left the group in her hands.

"Dr. Kayl-Ur, Nurse Hend-Ur, it is good to see you again. Good day to all of you, I hope your translators are working properly?" Dr. Holdar asked, getting nods from all the Pod-Drran medical staff. "Good. You will all be billeted with our interns, so I would ask that you keep the noise in your apartments to a minimum, as interns can be sleeping on weird shifts.

"Most of you will be doing straight days on staff as we work to medically recover Kome-Nar's arm. He, of course, will be on the ward for most of the procedure, though we will initially place him in our in-house hotel until we are ready for him later this week.

"If you follow me, I will show you to the ward where Kome-Nar will eventually be placed, and then show you to your apartments while we have Kome-Nar brought to the hotel. Once we are all established, we will begin the review of the work already accomplished on the Pod-Drran DNA and how it needs to be modified from our current procedures for the medical recovery of your people.

"Starting tomorrow, you will be shadowing me on rounds with humans who are currently going through different phases of their treatments. Kome-Nar, you are welcome to join us on those rounds, as it will likely be very boring in your hotel room," Dr. Holdar finished, leading them to the ward and then to their apartments while Kome-Nar was escorted by a bright young nurse to his hotel room.

Sherm's City Shuttle Port, Scherm's City, Hollander's World, The Sullivan System, Sixty Light Years from Terra

Thank-you for the lift," Petronella said to Junelliya as she gave her a hug good-bye. She and the seven other Senior Councillors of the Council of Empaths and their spouses, had hitched a ride with PV The Trine on their return to Hollander's World, which was on a direct route between Green's World and Anuura.

"I have something for you before you leave," Petronella told Hanalei, turning to look out the open hatch. There were three empaths standing there with jump bags.

"What is this?" Hanalei asked.

"These three are some of our best, youngest, personal bodyguards. You are welcome to interview them and then hire one or more for your personal staff," Petronella told them, having learned of their requirements while at Denders Resort.

"All three are GME's, so you will be getting a good team member," Petronella said with a smile as she walked off.

The three came out into the customs area to do their interview. The two women and one male were a good match for the trine's needs. Petronella had made a good selection for the interviews, as it was difficult to make a choice between the three. They finally decided on hiring Violletiya, one of the two women, thanked the other two candidates and had her go through customs for the trip to Liramor-23.

Violletiya was surprised when she boarded The Trine to see three Cats flitting around. They landed on her shoulder and started getting to know her. Violletiya manifested some of her power so the Cats would know her power as an empath. The Cats trilled their delight when she did.

"Violletiya, the members of this Pod are our friends and bond mates, Juneya, Hanaya, and Fayea," Junelliya told her. "Juneya, this is Violletiya. She will be staying with us for a while, so be nice to her," Junelliya told the dominant Cat of the Pod, getting an answering call from all three of the Cats.

"I didn't think Cats could live off of Hollander's World!" Violletiya marvelled.

"Normally they wouldn't, however, you have really not met Junelliya yet," Fayad said as he hugged the waists of his two wives.

Junelliya smiled, extended her hand, and delivered a trickle of her power to Violletiya. The trickle was more than enough to announce Junelliya's potential, shocking the GME when she discovered just who she had been hired by.

"Part of your duties will be to act as a member of Junelliya's Training Fellowship. Junelliya is still largely untrained," Fayad let out casually, giving another surprise to Violletiya.

Violletiya was introduced to the extended family of the Trine and the Pod-Drran Ambassador, Nar-Tre Sai-Rai, as they travelled to Anuura. She also met Takebayashi Urano, the new Nanny and heard her story. Violletiya was impressed.

It looked like it would be an interesting journey to Liramor-23 and beyond...

The Grand Temple of Andanii Shuttle Port, Aereet City, Andanii District, Planet Anuura, Caiden System, Fifty-Six Light Years from Terra

PV The Trine set down in the Shuttle Port of the Grand Temple of Andanii, three kilometers from the temple and within a few hundred meters of the homes of each of the extended family members of the Trine.

As soon as they heard that the ship had landed, the remaining members of the extended family all converged on it, both to see the vessel itself, and the two new children of the family.

While they were impressed with PV The Trine, even with the testing gear all over the place, they were surprised to find a member of the Pod-Drran on the ship. However, once Junelliya had introduced her and her circumstances, the family was very accepting of the 'lost soul', as they called her.

The family reunion was a happy one, even if it was short, as the ship needed to continue it's evaluation schedule. With a final good-bye, all the extended family members departed the vessel and it once again took to space, arriving not long after at Liramor-23. The family was home again...

Piscium Family Quarters, India Deck, Liramor-23, 109 Piscium System, 106 Light Years from Terra

The family was getting to know their new, more spacious quarters a little better. They had only been in it a couple of days before the naming ceremony. The children were both put down for a nap in their own room, while rooms were assigned to Takebayashi Urano and Violletiya. It wasn't long after the family arrived when the door sounded, announcing visitors.

The members of the House of Ur came to greet the family, having arrived much earlier than the Pisciums.

"Where are the children?" Mind-Ur asked.

"Down for a nap," Junelliya advised her. "They have had an exciting day, meeting their relatives, our new staff, and travelling between planets."

"Your staff?" Caye-Ur asked.

"I've been told to hire some staff to help me out," Hanalei told them. "You may know one of them," she said pointing to Urano.

"Oh! It's Urano from the Day Car!" Gend-Ur exclaimed.

"It is," Urano replied, smiling.

"Urano has agreed to be a temporary Nanny for us," Hanalei told the excited group.

"Why temporary?" asked Lent-Ur.

"She is still working toward her doctorates in Early Childhood Development, and she has been asked to set up a day care here on Liramor-23. We have her as our Nanny until the day care opens," Fayad told them, getting nods of encouragement from the House of Ur.

"That is actually a brilliant idea," Ren-Ur stated. "After what happened at Denders, the Greater Community will accept her in that capacity, where they might have been suspicious of others."

"Who is the other?" Mind-Ur asked.

"This is my personal bodyguard, Violletiya," Hanalei informed them.

"You will have to get to know Kim and Gillaya, then," Caye-Ur proclaimed. "They are Raymond and Liea's bodyguards on The Wanderer but they are often on the platform."

The door chimed and opened for Meela and Heyya. "Well, hello, all. What a surprise to see everyone here." Heyya quipped. Heyya's eyes were drawn immediately to Violletiya, recognizing the empathic signature of a GME.

Heyya raised a feathery eyebrow to Junelliya.

"Don't look at me, she belongs to Hanalei," Junelliya stated with a smile.

"She is my personal bodyguard," Hanalei explained. "However, she is to become a member of the Fellowship by direction of Petronella."

"Makes sense to me," Heyya replied. "Welcome to the team. Have you had time to be introduced to Junelliya yet?"

"Just briefly when I was hired. I was a little shocked when she first manifested," Violletiya explained.

"Oh, you are in for more than a little shock," Heyya smiled.

"Urano?" Meela asked, seeing the diminutive woman.

"I've been hired as a Nanny, for now," Urano told Meela.

"For now?" Heyya asked.

"It's a long story, but basically, Fiona wants her to open a day care on the platform Hanalei told them.

That got a nod of understanding from both of them.

The door chimed again.

"This is looking more and more like the waiting room of an Interplanetary Shuttle Port," Heyya quipped, getting smiles from all.

The door opened to reveal Mayute and Augraf, the two Toolend who were helping to train Junelliya as she began to manifest telepathic abilities, surprising Violletiya, who had now met three distinct species for the first time, all sprung upon her one after the other.

"Hello, Augraf, Mayute, to what do we owe the pleasure of your presence here today?" Junelliya asked.

"Wait, how do you know the difference?" Violletiya asked before she could still her tongue.

"Mayute is wearing the armband of a member of the ambassadorial staff," Fayad quipped, just to tease the new bodyguard. That got the Toolend to laughing and Violletiya to blushing.

"Fayad, you are such a tease," Mind-Ur chided. "Time for us to go, as it is becoming a little too crowded in your home," Mind-Ur proclaimed, giving the three hugs and rubbing foreheads with them, a process repeated by the other members of the House of Ur as they left.

"Come back anytime," Hanalei said.

"When we smell your cooking, you will see us, our apartment is very close to yours now," Lend-Ur winked, an affectation she had borrowed from humans as it was something the Pod-Drran had learned from them. The comment got laughter from the other Pod-Drran as they left.

Junelliya turned to the Toolend, raising an eyebrow.

"We would like to be present the next time that you get together with your Fellowship for training," Augraf asked of Junelliya.

"That shouldn't be a problem," Junelliya said. "We have Urano now to look after the children.

"Oh, please, bring the little ones," Mayute exclaimed. "We delight in their minds, so open to learning new things. Our young do not learn in the same manner."

That comment got the interest of Urano, who was always intrigued by how children learned. It made sense that other species' children learned differently but Urano now had an idea for a dissertation for her doctorates that she needed to learn about from the other species.

"We are going to need a larger training area," Heyya quipped with a smile, the 'small' Construction Bay they often worked in was anything but.

That brought the distinctive laughter of the Toolend as they caught on to the joke.

"How have you been progressing with your practice?" Augraf asked, aware that Junelliya had been diligently doing the training that erht had given her to sharpen her mental focus while at Denders.

"As well as I can, however, I do not know if things are progressing or not," Junelliya answered truthfully. There was really no sense in lying to a Toolend, as they would know immediately.

"Petronella tells us you have. She was impressed with the fine control you displayed while at Denders," Mayute responded.

"It would be nice if someone could have told me that, instead of letting me delve into things on my own," Junelliya countered, showing her obvious frustration.

"Our kind go through their mental growth individually," Augraf explained. "We do not know of any other way to do things, though we are learning from how humans teach their trainees.

"You spend a lot of time showing your students how things need to be done, allowing them to try, and then correcting their efforts. This is something that we recognize can help our people."

"This one is new but like you," Mayute said of Violletiya, interjecting into the conversation.

"She comes from the same planet as Heyya and has the same abilities as Vangeliya," Junelliya informed erht.

"Yes, we can see the similarities," Augraf stated. "Heyya is at this level as well," erht told them, surprising Heyya.

"Understandable," Junelliya replied. "She has been teaching me for some time now and working with Vangeliya and Malteyea has sharpened her control and fine ability as well as increasing her strength.

"I do not doubt she could take the test for GME and pass it easily," Junelliya finished with a smile to her friend and teacher.

"Can you manifest a little of your ability for us?" Mayute asked. "We would like to see what kind of control you now have."

"Where is Gillaya?" Junelliya asked of Heyya.

"She is on The Wanderer," Heyya told her.

"Perfect. She makes a good target then," Junelliya opened her power and sent out the empathic equivalent of an e-mail Happy Face directly to Gillaya.

Three things happened almost immediately. The Toolend were happy with what they saw as an increase in her fine control over her abilities. Violletiya got more of an inclination as to the power that Junelliya actually had, proving Heyya's previous comment, and Junelliya's comp chirped.

"Well, it's about time you guys got back!" Gillaya's image came over the comp. "I thought that ship of yours was fast?"

"It is fast, we just had more places to go," Junelliya laughed. "Gillaya I want you to meet a new member of our Fellowship, GME Violletiya has been hired as Hanalei's personal bodyguard."

Junelliya pointed the comp at Violletiya who waved a hand at a fellow empath and citizen of Hollander's World.

"Another female, Fayad, are you collecting?" Gillaya teased, as was her way, getting a blush from Fayad.

"Have you informed Vangeliya then?" Gillaya asked, always shifting things around.

"We haven't heard from her since we have returned," Junelliya admitted.

"She'll want to have a training session soon, it has been awhile since the Fellowship has come together," Gillaya said.

"As to that, the Toolend want to be present the next time we meet," Junelliya informed Gillaya. "Will you be OK with that?"

"Yes, I have had many opportunities to speak with the Toolend, I like the way they think and process things," Gillaya told her. "Very open to new things, unlike most of the Interspecies Community, including humans."

That got a laugh from Fayad, who had to agree with her assessment.

The Toolend said nothing, observing without comment, allowing the conversation to continue with their presence in the background.

The door chimed again. Frustrated, Junelliya reached out and touched the door control, opening it, only she was several meters from the door when she did it.

The Toolend blinked in unison, utterly surprised with what Junelliya had just done, Fayad and Hanalei looked at each other but said nothing. Heyya, Meela, and Violletiya were completely fixated on Junelliya, ignoring the conversation taking place between her and Gillaya as Junelliya told her to come over the next day to greet the new arrivals in their family.
