I got the distinct impression that many people who knew Gary and I thought that I was a traitor and a slut and hoped that my new relationship would fail, or that I'd be shipped off to a Mexican whore house, or that I would end up with a life-ending venereal disease. Unfortunately for them -- at least up until now, ten years after I filed for divorce --none of those things happened. I'm now, and have been for more than nine years, Mrs. Lizbeth VanVleet, am madly in love with my husband and make love to him every chance that I get to prove it to him, and am enjoying a full life raising our two kids and working part time as an intellectual property attorney for a small firm in my new city.

Maybe I should never have married until I found someone to truly fall in love with -- but then again I didn't know what true love was until Dirk VanVleet saved me.

Well written per usual. I didn't like how she self justified her cheating, but anyone having a hissy fit should know that this story is fairly standard for this author.

Oddly, I enjoyed the story. Go figure.

NOT having a hissy fit.

Good story-a couple of points to make.

1- wife had only the word of her lover that her husband had run away from her mugging.Sounds like he was throwing her a bone to help ease her guilt.

2-Husband has no advocates, while he was not overdrawn as a bad guy there was also nothing to show the qualities that attracted her to him enough to marry.

5 stars.

So she uses her first husband Gary as a place holder for 5 years. Then dumps him for her true love without remorse. This does not portray her as anything close to a compassionate, likable character. What anyone would find alluring about her is beyond me. She comes across as cold and and self centered. 110% all about her.

I agree with travelerdavel! Keep writing.

Re my comments earlier. Forgot to say this was a great story and regarding the comments below about her not having sufficient "rationale for dumping her husband", I would say BS. Him running the other way when she was being attacked (and not even trying to do anything (even just calling 911)) seemed to say he didn't care. BTB )Burn the Bastard.) Ha.
