"Man, it's been quite a journey to get where I am today." She said to herself, laying down on the mossy ground, staring up into the blue sky. Thinking about her last two months in this college, she hopes to get one last tour around the campus, who knows how long it'll be when she comes back here.

A good start for your first story. You are doing the right thing by developing the characters and setting the story. I peronally like the interaction between the characters as that gets me interested in the story. Keep it up and thanks for your time and imagaination.
