The husband in this story is nothing more than a selfish bastard. Although the husbands actions were no reason for the wife to commit adultery I can understand her view point. While having some sympathy for the adulteress is good, the husband is so abusive in attitude it undermines the story, you want the protagonist to leave him, not just sleep with someone else.

For her to enjoy the abuse from a stranger, it really shouldn't bother her from her husband, that bit felt off.

That said, it's a good story, just needs to feel more believable this woman would marry and stay with this man.

What is wrong with people. At least in this story she was honest with him and was full of regret. Regardless of what she done one the night. she made it clear that she only wanted his children.
