This is a remarkably stupid story.

First: there is no character development. Everything we learn about the couple - which is practically nothing - is that they are conventional striving middle class twenty-somethings who are … not very bright or interesting (probably reflecting the author and his life experiences, or lack thereof. All they can think of is a house, then a bigger house and then maybe a family)

The idea that such a conventional woman is going to jump for the money is out of keeping with her personality - or the s it?

To the the author she violated some basic rule of fidelity - sexual fidelity - but in reality she adheres to theirs - follow the money.

The husband follows it as well - takes the money and runs.

Really, this is a half baked … something. The rich guy is implausible

The husband is plausibly rigid - and self righteous - and the wife is better off without him. Next time she can think things through a bit more before acting - not marrying another guy like this one for a start

The ending was slightly better because the hub divorced her whereas in the movie the ending had them together again, despite Demi Moore's character taking the same track to the Money.

Of course all the critics thought the movie was all arty and o.k. because the predator was played by that nice Robert Redford and Ms Moore was all chic and classy and her husband was a bit of an arty wimp too.

So the hypocritical smart people in our society all ignored the fact that it was paid for sex and therefore he was the John and she was the whore. Something they'd have tut tutted about very loudly if it had been a $100 trick they were commenting on.

From the husbands perspective I wonder how he felt when he realized he was paid $500,000 compensation for being showed his wife was a selfish slut. My guess, he soon forgot about her, found a real woman and lived happily ever after.

Because of her selfishness I doubt shew could ever be happy. Best guess, she lost her family and many of her friends as well unless they were just as slutty as she was.

Weak ending

Benjamin Franklin did this experiment while in France with a courtesan. The answer was it is always about the money. Men, my advice is you should not become rich. If you do, keep it hidden. Then you will know if she chose you for love or money.

Sigh, I hate stories where the rich guy and the bodyguard get off without damage. I have no idea why the writers decide this, but it's fucking disappointing.

Also, try to at least put a little emotion into your story. This had about the emotiveness of a rock.

BUT it could have been better if the husband just let the wife go with the ASSHOLE, then turned around withdrawing his sidearm and shot the bodyguard in the middle of his bullet proof vest. While lying on the ground struggling to breathe, give the bodyguard a bit of advice - "If there ever is a 'next time', you would be well advised to make sure the husband is not armed. You can tell your ASSHOLE boss that he can keep the skanky, SLUT and NOT to bring her back, because I will have moved on from this fiasco."
