The Silver Lady told him that he would not have children. When Virginia asked him if she could stop using birth control and have a child together, he said 'yes'. knowing that it would never happen. So,

they'd never conceive, she'd miscarry or she'd die. No fourth option. 'Two echos and heartbreak', yeah, she'd called that, too. My computer is too fragile to play Arcanum, my heart as well. 5 stars

Boah! Massive, violent, brutal, heartbreaking. Didn't see that coming but the Silver Lady's prophecy came true to a T. I'm pretty shocked right now - which btw is a huge compliment to you as nothing speaks better of a novel's quality if the reader gets sucked in emotionally. Now hope is all about that we are in a world with gods and magic. Saying the final goodbye to Virginia doesnt make sense at this point of the story from a storytelling viewpoibt, so there must be another twist coming, but, man... I'm shocked nonetheless. Her last smile, she shot, the brutal reaction of her lover... Wow. What an emotional whirlwind! Well done.
