Great story with a fabulous ending. Realistic character, not overly sentimental. I love how you firmly entrench the reader in a setting. The characters, the scenery, the action all seem deeply rooted in a time and place.

it seemed a lacklustre ending, like the only ones who ended up winning was masters and hendlemesman, yes gil and sean get to go away as lovers but even that doesn't seem to lift this story. they left more optimistic than they got coming in, but I still see them as bit players on the side ready to be played by masters. I just wasn't in love with this one
Wish we knew for sure that they made it and that karma bit Masters and Handlesman in the butt....
