Sublime.

I've enjoyed every chapter of this romance, and this one was especially fine. I particularly enjoyed the writing in the opening at the hospital. Such beautifully turned phrases: "To be pushed again through that amnion and expectorated into life..." and "The machines continued to beep in contentment, reporting normal values for all her vitals." And despite your introductory warning to the chapter, there was even a bracing bit of the "horizontal tango" to warm us up nicely.

Congratulations on a well crafted novella. The characters are fresh and interesting, especially the strong, sexy, and serene Gwyneth. The settings were original---I especially admired the lovers' visit to the interactive art exhibit in an earlier chapter. And the story arc was gratifying. I deeply enjoyed the time I spent with Gwyneth and Aidan, as well as the cast of fascinating secondary characters like Dylan, Sayuri and Michael (I wouldn't mind reading a story about his inevitable romance one bit!)

Thanks very much for bringing "Axiom" to Literotica.

Really excellent writing and great character development, so I am sorry it is over. I must have missed something, but what is the significance of the last two sentences from the butterflies?

Kudos!

Kudos! Congratulations! Bravo! The greatest story on Literotica. Brilliant. Just superb.

Looking forward to a new one.

Re: Sidney43

The butterflies are the ones mentioned in Ch. 4: one is Gwyneth's, the other Aidan's - which is which is up to you to guess :) Sorry for the confusion, I should've added a note or something.

Thanks to everyone for saying such nice things!

I am so impressed

I've read this story and I agreed with everyone else. It's been an absolute pleasure to read. Both Gwyneth and Aidan's perspective have put a place in my heart for each of them. This chapter made me tear up. Good ending is all I can say! Thanks x

Real literature

Sometimes you can be lucky in life. I hadn't signed in to the site for several months but yesterday I chanced to look into the 'most popular' section. I was lucky enough to find your story at the head of the list, 'most voted for' and you have graced my day with not just a well written, well thought out and emotional piece of work, but apart from a few spelling mistakes 'real literature'. Your remark about being similar to a well known film does not make this any less literature and I guess it would work more or less as a screenplay. As a less talented author myself, I really encourage you to place this before a publisher. I really think it is that good and I echo some of your previous commentators when I say I would really like to read more of your work.

Brilliant

This was a beautiful story. Well thought out, the characters had real depth and stayed true to their personalities throughout. The dialogue was never ever stilted. There is a sense of maturity and complexity in the story that mirrors real world relationships that makes this story all the more gripping. There were 2 scenes in my opinion where you excelled - the interactive art gallery and when Gwyneth goes into cardiac arrest. The ending was very close in making that three scenes. :) Thanks so much for such a great read. You're new fan ~P

My heart aches a little...

At the thought that this story is finished. This has to be one of the best stories. Your dialogue and character development was the very best. Your writing is extremely polished and I truly hope you keep more stories coming. Thank you for this one.

Clever ending

I'm in awe of the effort that a piece this long and complex took and you certainly deserve praise and thanks for both the effort and its results. I think I enjoyed it more for the characters growth and plot complexities (some unexpected) as well as for the romance. I've come to think that the Romance category allows an author to explore people's feelings without the obligatory extended descriptions of the things we all do when conveying our emotions to each other. It is the emotions that interest in that they are unique, the acts themselves ... well there are only so many variations.

Please ... as the mood strikes you and you have the time and capacity ... I'm sure you'll have fans waiting here.

What movie is this like?

My guess is A Walk to Remember.

Amazing well written

Your writing is so polished and the story so well constructed that it has few peers on this or any website. It was has been an absolute pleasure to read. Often promising stories end on a whimper but your ending was a fitting conclusion to Gwyneth and Aidan's tale. I hope you write another novella as you have an envious ability to craft interesting descriptions, rich panoramas and engaging characters.

(PS. Semantics perhaps..."pulseless V-fib"-- V-fib is by its very nature pulseless)

What a great story. I couldn't stop reading! I hope you will continue sharing stories! Everyone else has said so much already, I'm not sure I can add much more.

I'm guessing you are British? I know Aiden is British, but the other characters are American (or American-Japanese). I noticed several lines in the story where American characters made very British comments. Reminded me of my British friends, but things Americans would never say (such as cheeky).

Thanks again for sharing your story.

looking forward to more of your stories

I would love for Dylan to get hit by the love bug. He may be a different type of guy than Aiden but he has kept the serious stuff out of his life just as effectively. Would love for some woman to come along that would make him open up.

The Doctor

This was an absolutely beautiful story! Very very well done. Although I have to say my favorite part was the Dr Who reference. Amazing!

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 11 years ago
A speculation...

as to who the inspiration for the main character might have been...English accent..angular features..prominent cheekbones..not handsome in the normative sense..reference to Moffat's Who... It took me awhile and caught me off guard, but in my head it all added up to the one and only Benedict Cumberbatch. Seems fitting. I like it.

drunkenphilosophydrunkenphilosophyalmost 11 years agoAuthor
Benedict Cumberbatch

Ha! That's so cool. I was actually going for British Cillian Murphy - he has eyes that any woman can drown in - but Benedict is a perfectly fine replacement.

Amazing!

What an amazing story! I loved every minute of it. You have done a tremendous job...even though it's only seven chapters, I feel like I've just read a hundred chapters worth of material. It's just amazing that the stories have so much depth to them. I laughed...I teared up...I laughed again. Much kudos to you! Have you thought about a sequel of some sort? Maybe a couple of years into their marriage? Anyway, thanks for a wonderful series!

butterflies?

Then I remembered, all those chapters ago.

Love the frigging connections everywhere, I love an intricate plot.

(#1 was Aidan writing to his mother, #2 was Gwyneth writing to her father... Feeling really sad now.)

Thank you

You know that warm, fuzzy, slightly teary feeling you get after witnessing something beautiful? That's how I felt when I finished this. Thank you, thank you for sharing your heart-woven tale with us. As a writer to another, I can only wish I can craft half as masterful a story as you. As a reader and editor, I say good job on packing the plot within seven short chapters and weaving in all the threads and references. You make the words -- and my heart -- sing.

To paraphrase Rossini, "you write with your soul, my dear, and your soul is beautiful".
