How about forced painful hi-tech brain scans like resistence has, or like Interigation pain Bots, Darth Vader Used. Surely these pirates are not all mad and Cornhole Crazy or Canibals like Firefly Reavers, some should have some chivalry or code and some fancy tech.

I love your characters and the plot. This could be a 5-star, absolutely frakkin' top-notch story that I recommend to everyone if you weren't so rape-happy. Contrary to the beliefs around here, there are ways to move the plot, add drama (even the awful stuff) without raping someone every page.
