In life, timing is everything. He took away a good part of the pleasure and happiness of Molly. He diminished her joy.

It would have seen much better for Jason to have told h Molly in the morning, perhaps when playing with their two rambunctious sons and when he could provide the details as to his trip..

But not in bed, not after an early return and wonderful love-making.

Yes, your story would have been longer, but Molly could better accept another trip with poached eggs and her sons there than at the moment when Jason **blurted** out that negative news in their marital bed.
