Brilliant is too simple a word to describe this, but it is the best. A simple tale, it folds in the many layers of your other Pueblo tales, so, for regular readers, it's also wrapping itself in complex storylines. Told supremely well.
I'm not crying, you're crying. Damn, you're good, Bebop3. Hit me square in the feels. Outstanding.
A day without Mooky is like a day without sunshine. Nice little story.
Thank you for the story. Had to put down my Irish wolfhound couple days back. Thankfully I have 3 other dogs as well as 2 foster dogs to help deal with it. Bob will help Jerry and when the time comes help mooky. top notch story as usual. STAY SAFE
As Mr. Lincoln would have said, "An interesting little tale for those who are interested in that sort of thing."
My only attempt to get a younger companion for my old dog resulted in the newcomer nearly getting his head ripped off.
@Taradar, it's a Todd172 story: https://www.literotica.com/s/the-shack-an-implacable-man
Mookie is a character in Todd172's brilliant 'Shack' series, he's the local weed Good Samaritan and Taco store worker, see 'The Shack: An Implacable Man' https://classic.literotica.com/s/the-shack-an-implacable-man
This story hit me in the heart. My mom's dog's health is failing. It's hard knowing what's coming, but I make sure to give him plenty of love every day so his last days are comfortable and happy. I couldn't be there for my own dogs - my ex got them in the split - but I can be there for hers.
I guess that's a long way of saying thanks for writing this. :)
I mean, for what it is, it’s a fine little short. It just felt like there was more for Mookie as a character than just this. I for one, would have gladly waited longer for Mookie’s story, if I had actually gotten Mookie’s story.
Had to give Jack some pets, laying on the couch beside me, when I read this. He's still got some good years ahead of him. But this story made me think of our Scout, who had to go ahead and check out the 'great unknown' some time ago. Still miss him. If there's any justice in this mess, Scout'll be waiting for me and Jack.
Mooky from "The Shack." Glad to see you did a story on him. It was fun to read a story about him in a new place, and yet the still doing the tacos and herb.
DANG I LOVE THIS STORY! I cant't count how many times I've read it. Sweet and to the point from a dog lovers mouth. Thank you!
Love Mooky. Thanks so much for a little more info about him. Great to see he's got a date. I hope Delaney approves.
"roasting hatch peppers", um, no. If they are Hatch Chile peppers (note the correct spelling), they are grown in and around Hatch, NM, not Pueblo, Co as implied here. This is a fact, no matter what the governor of Co. says. The name has been hijacked because NM chiles are, in fact, the best in the world.
Oh bugger. Sorry, but this is just so real and sad. Great story but it hurts.
great dog story ad "good guy" story. Didn't realize until other comments that Mooky was Needles and Delaney's "Mooky" at 40 or so.
I view people who take their dogs into public spaces the same way I view public smoking. I know people with bad allergies and asthma. One guy couldn’t be in the same room as a dog. He would have to immediately leave, take some serious medicine, and pray that he wouldn’t have to go to the Emergency Room, which did happen a few times. Of course, a damn pothead doesn’t care about rules, or why they exist. To him, the majority like his dog, so fuck the individual, right, bro.

Tears. the the over critical anon talking about allergies and such. This was a good story ruined by your criticisms, you know why people criticize so much? It easy that's why. It was good story any way. Let find something nice to say about our free authors works....................
