My only regret about this story is that Pauline and the author never had children together when he was at uni.

I know it's silly- and would've wrought emotional and professional havoc on both of their careers, but it spikes my older woman, younger man affair fantasies when they happily make and raise children together. However, that's MY fetish not your story.

Plot, characters, sense of location and overall warmth, outstanding.
