I sometimes find suspension of disbelief difficult with MC stories, but this was very well written -- the pacing is excellent, and Reyna is compelling from the start. Loved the buildup to Anna's (self-)destruction. And I love the subtle psychological domination of, for example:

"So, Reyna," asked John. "What do you do for a living?"

"Anna tells me you're retired," answered Reyna.
