From blackrandl1958:

Welcome to the mini-event, "Burning Down the House." Several writers who read and post in the Loving Wives category put our heads together and decided to write some classic Loving Wives stories.

These are stories in which the characters are neither passive actors in their marriages nor homicidal maniacs. Just people who do the best they can in difficult situations and try to live their best lives. We write in hope that the readers enjoy these stories, and as a thank you to readers who come to Literotica, read our stories and give us an audience.

Thanks to Laurel and the Literotica staff for giving us a fun place to read and write.

And now, the stories:

A New Profession by qhml1

Burning Down the House by blackrandl1958

Broken Links by Bebop3

Love Me Do by Harddaysknight

Marked by stev2244

Monster in the Mirror by MattblackUK

On the Hook by sbrooks103x

Riptides by norafares

Tequila Shuffle by Todd172

If you're interested in writing in any of our ongoing author-organized Challenges (or in organizing a Challenge), please check the Author-Organized Challenge List for 2019.

A big thank-you to all the authors who contribute both to this themed challenge, and to Literotica every day.

And without the readers, there could be no writers. Thank you for reading these stories!

Not one worth rereading. Most were half effort outlines of stories.

I liked the premise of a LW story that held down blazing drama. While I like to see "passion, jealousy and hate" as much as anyone, these stories gave more time to enjoy the characters. So, thanks for this. Great stuff.

Very disappointing

Overall 3*

They must have had it in for some author or story to think we'd like recycled cliches. Nothing original or creative across the board

Burning Down The House: A 9 Story Event 10/15/19 5-Stars OLD_CROW

I read all 9 stories and thought they all deserved 5 Stars. These are the kinds of stories that attracted me to Literotica years ago. Now I feel lucky find 1 or 2 a week that I want to read. I wish Harddaysknight would get back to Lady in Red: Book 3 and add a Ch. 9... I've enjoyed all his stories but especially liked Lady in Red. I hope he hasn't gotten burned out on such a captivating series? Thank you so much for this great event.

Finished

OK, I read them all and they, every one, lived up to the anticipation. I have a *5 to them all as I am well known to be a well balanced judge of LW stories. Seriously, this was great and justifiably well received. There are a few people who don't like anything. Randi, I am one of your "lemmings" and usually feel you can do no wrong. But this time you have screwed the pooch. If you were as good as we think you are, then we would have stories like this every day and not falling back so quickly into the abyss that LW has become. Your special just made our reality even more depressing. Randi, wave your magic pen again and save us from this torture. Great work from everyone involved.

Well one thing for sure.....

there will be a lot of 4 point plus stories here, not often found in this category. Always looking forward to stories like these, something actually worth reading.

A wonderful event

My thanks to you, Randi, and to all the participating authors. It was a delight to read these well-written, creative, and non-extreme stories.

@Anonymous, "Thanks."

You are very welcome. I am uncertain who rates an index page, and definitely unsure who would downvote one. As you said, it's a notice, not a story. I guess someone who hates these kinds of stories with an extreme passion, someone who hates one of the writers, or me, with such an extreme passion they downvote index pages, imagining that they are punishing someone.

Really, we are all veteran writers, and at this point, scores just don't mean that much. Views matter to us, and as long as people are reading our stories, that's good enough for us. If kind readers such as you enjoy our stories, we'll keep writing them, whether the score is a two or a five.
