And yes, it was a cheating wife, fire and brimstone for her, but that she disappeared and completely left the family was a little bit much.

I enjoyed the read, but the sentence of 8 1/3 to 15 years given to Alex for hitting Nick and threatening Helen is hilariously high.

First page he's told his wife was seen at the Marriott while fishing. Last page he's told while golfing? So was he fishing on a golf course or golfing on a floating course? Also 8yrs for simple assault and threatening? That's the same as 1st Degree Assault which didn't happen in the story. That attorney should be disbarred for gross negligence.

AnonymousAnonymous9 months ago

What a horrible author, he/she can't even keep the facts straight. Were the buddies fishing or golfing when Nick found his wife was a whore? This was disjointed as fuck. 1 star

I agree the prison sentence didn't fit. Otherwise a great little cheat and divorce story.

A minimum sentence of over eight years for simple assault and making a verbal threat? LOL...dream on. He might get 90 days if the judge is in a bad mood. Probation would be more likely for a first time offender.

I've been reading more than thousands of almost same type of stories.

I simply don't understand why both the spouses don't sit and try to sort out their problems before it gets out of hands.

We human beings consider us as so called civilized still some of us behave like animals by fucking other than our spouse behind their back for some illicit fun which ultimately cost them a lot at end.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 2 years ago

“That doesn’t mean that they were cheating.”

Yes, it does. No married person should be in a hotel room with someone other than their spouse. In states that still consider adultery as a factor in divorce, you don’t need video of the cheaters fucking, in fact it’s illegal to get that. A picture of a woman kissing a man not her husband is usually sufficient evidence. Video, or witness statements that a woman was in a room with some other man is always proof.

I like the word ‘rubbish’.

It’s so much more genteel than ‘shit’. As ‘oldguy1’ pointed out, this instantaneous fall-in-love rubbish is just some kind of fucked up male fantasy. Women are disposable, and interchangeable; they’re just ambulatory cum rags.

It has been said before that many ‘men’ see women as ‘madonna or whore’, and not as people. The old wife is the whore, the brand spanking new one is the madonna. The protagonist’s claim that they’ve known each other for years, and so are perfectly compatible to get married is just such utter ‘rubbish’. They’d be divorced in three months.

One of the problems that I see with a lot of the authors here is that they just completely lack imagination. They just endlessly recycle the stuff they’ve read, without thinking of plausibility or human experience.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 2 years ago

What is it with Americans getting married. It is an archaic useless institution for the superstitious weaklings. Just live together. It's so much more civilised

rubbish/ they catch their spouses cheating on them and then in the space of 1 week they fall in love. rubbish. that's only in the story to prove some kind of f..ked up payback. rubbish. and then Mary disappears, runs away and abandons her children. rubbish. that's only there to show how big a winner he ends up. i would have left the idiot as well. he had no balls, no respect for his kids as proved by him letting her disappear. just because she fell out of love with him doesn't mean she needed to leave her kids. rubbish

I Don't Know.

I read this story before and wasn't much impressed with it then and not impressed with it now. He keeps changing information constantly, Let me start with the most obvious. His last kid is off to college, his oldest is married. Yet he says that in nineteen years he has only gotten three blowjobs from Mary? Later, he tells her they've been married twenty three years? Another, he has proof that she slept with Alex twenty times. Well I figured that from January to May is only sixteen weeks, So they have been seeing each other daily and sometimes more than twice a day? And nobody had a clue? There's so many things that the author didn't think about. How about, they stayed in Vega's an extra day? Wouldn't Alex and Mary be at their respective abodes waiting and wondering if they were okay or what happened? And then making both sets of kids wait till they felt like telling them of the affair? That just sounded like a John Wayne movie I had just finished seeing. "I'll show you the money when you give me the kid." Same precept. There's so many things going on here and so many different scenarios and changes to the story line. The author should have picked on a story line and stuck to it instead of trying to make it into a Tom Clancy mystery.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 3 years ago

Disappointing. It started well but the wheels fell off when they were explaining to the kids. The explanation didn't match the rest of the story and it all felt rushed.

The good thing about your comment, is that if your kids ever needed a bone marrow transplant, they will be just fine if you refuse to help.

They can just go to their biological father.

If by some extraordinary circumstance, all your kids needed bone marrow transplants, then they can go see each sperm donor individually, as I am sure there is one for each kid.

Your wife deserves the Darwin award. You do know what that is, yes? It's an award given to those who improved the human condition by removing their genetic contribution before it could do any damage? Usually, it's awarded posthumously, as the recipient had the decency to bring about their own demise. In your case, it's ok, you can go on enjoying life, spending your time commenting how the poor, hapless cheaters are hard done by.

That's because your wife decided to end your genetic line for you. For that, she gets extra points.

And it's a good thing you can't make your boyfriends pregnant.

I'd sign this with my usual login, but I don't care to have you stalking my comments for the rest of your miserable life, no matter how short it may be

In most of these stories you hear the dad tell the kids not hate mom but to hate what she did. But for some reason no one gives a fuck about dad till you need him. Really liked it, 5*****

I know they will never read this, but to reply to pennydog55 and Anon on 05/31/17, this is my take.

Nick said he got the info while playing golf...in My world you don't burn an asset or throw a friend under a bus. Telling the kids a friend told you about Mary when you were out fishing with a buddy would have narrowed who it was if one of the kids told Mary.

They threw the pizza out because no-one was hungry, especially for pizza (although throwing it out is a travesty). But everyone sitting in a restaurant (a neutral place) is much more comfortable.

Nick never sent any pictures to anyone, it's called bluffing. Nick saw the cops when he confronted Alex, who didn't see them. Helen told Nick before that Alex would go ballistic when he was served. Nick played Alex like a Stradivarius and Alex went all Neanderthal, just as Nick wanted, plus he threatened his wife just as Helen said he would in front of the police. At that point no-one had seen any photos except Nicks lawyer, so Nick had plausible deniability if Alex didn't take the bait that the photos even existed.

As for the lawyer making sure Nicks business was out of the reach of Mary in the divorce. I believe there was some type of agreement in place for many, many years and Nick just wanted his lawyer to double check to make sure everything was secure. That's not to say a good lawyer couldn't have gotten Mary a nice retirement chunk of it. Except Mary cut and ran before that could take place. She wanted away from Nick and be with, and maybe get remarried to, Alex. He said he didn't want anything like that and Mary realized she was nothing but a piece of Ass to Alex. There was nothing left for her to stick around for . Divorced from Nick, used by Alex and a great chance her kids didn't want anything to do with their "slut" Mother. How depressed she must have been....

If course this is just a FICTIONAL Story and I could be way wrong and none of my take is correct. Of course this was written in October 2010, so it's all a moot point. So don't worry be happy.

Fictional baloney

Where was Yoda? Pretty good story until the ending. It's hard to read a fictional story, with made up characters, that's trying to portray something that might happen in real life when that story is just so wrong on so many points. . Or rather it's impossible to put reality completely out of a story like this. And the ending was so far from reality that it ruined the story. I don't see how Helen and Nick would be rolling around in the sack, given the emotional turmoil they would have been in, considering they were both watching 20 plus years of their married lives destroyed. So they cheat to get even or comfort each other? Unlikely. Worse than that? No way Nick's lawyer "protects" his business in that short a time period. Mary would have gotten half the business, half the sale of their home and half their other assets. No hiding bank statements and last years tax returns from a Judge. And there's absolutely no way Mary just leaves her kids and never speaks to them again. That was just stupid. She would have secured her half of the assets to ensure a comfortable retirement for herself and known that the kids would have been mad for awhile, but at the end of the day, she was still their Mother and they would have forgiven her. That leaves Alex. Not in jail. He would have gotten an attorney and promptly traded his jail time for Nick's jail time. You do realize it's illegal to send pictures like that to anyone? A Judge could sentence Nick to significant jail time. So Alex got half their assets and maybe moved away. Maybe not. Locking or trying to throw their spouses out of the marital homes was another fictional mistake. Since abuse, alcohol or drugs wasn't alleged, there's no restraining order possible, so Mary and Alex would have been in their houses. If Nick and Helen shack up together, there goes their adultery claims as they're doing the same thing Alex and Mary are doing. So this whole story turned into an improbable, unbelievable trainwreck. Not good.

Contrived

The measure of a good plot is how well it grasps the reader and keeps the reader in it's reality. In this case, the plot did well right up to the trip to Vegas. At that point, the two spurned spouses finding solace in each others embrace began to make the plot unlikely and stilted. The lack of emotional trauma and quick rebound relationship was dry. Catching the cheaters on the living room floor was unemotional and dry. All the way through to the end it was simplistic and silly. The only thing that I appreciated about it was that the cheaters suffered and the victims were not blamed for the cheating and did not suffer more than they had to from the cheating.

As far as the spurned becoming cheaters themselves? The answer is that you cannot cheat on a spouse that has already left a marriage. Cheating is an instant divorce in moral terms if not legal terms. You do not owe a cheater anything, let alone fidelity to a dead marriage.

I do not see Mary taking a small cash advance and disappearing. Without resources - she must be dead. A strange, unexplained plot device.

DrSemblanceDrSemblanceover 7 years ago

Pretty good story.

First though, I know it is a common practice in stories here and maybe you all take cues from each other, but you CANNOT just kick your spouse out of her home even if she is a cheating cunt, much less demand that they only have FIVE minutes to do so.

It takes a court order to make a legal owner leave her home.

Also, who the fuck throws out whole uneaten pizzas? Only in America would someone even think to do so (write to do so) I guess. Where we are spoiled rotten. Salad wouldn't keep well, but the pizza would for several days.

Also, a mother does not just abandon her children even if they are grown. Not the way you the author portrayed her. Remorseful a little but still in her mind she fell in love with someone else. It affected him, and maybe she would be a little ashamed, but not enough to never speak to her children, (not to him, sure).

true life real facts serial cheating wife

She is exposed on Facebook profile of dearbornmt@yahoo.com.

She was college instructor in Helena Montana until college administration was given details on Facebook profile. Also sent to college was photo of instructor cupping her bare 36C implanted breasts and a chronological, detailed, explicit account of how she coerced younger married male student into sexual relationship. Stories of some of couplings including multiple blowjobs at local baseball field in dugout and car. The dugout blowjob was witnessed by two men from yard adjacent to left field fence while she was sucking student's cock in first base dugout. He tried to stop her when one of the voyeurs yelled at them but she insisted on finishing him off. He warned her he was cumming, she told him she wanted him to in her mouth and she eagerly swallowed and livk her lips telling him how thick his cum was.

She also was kneeling down with blouse unbuttoned to blow him in her family room. Just after she had pushed him down on couch and she told him to relax and went andclosed the blinds. He spotted a car drive by and told her someone was in her drive. She told him to relax and not worry while he trie to convince her to at least lock door. Just before she went down to her knees between his legs the door began to open. She was just able to get to her feet before her youngest son walked in. The 18 year old had to notice her open blouse but said nothing. According to instructor a few months later she forgot to close computer and left lengthy cybersec IM SHE HAD INSISTED ON ENGAGING IN ON THE SCREEN. Her son called her a whore!!!

But I generally like to see the cheated spouses wind up together. This story was more realistic than most because the cheated spouses were in the same circle of friends, the two families had camped together, cheated Dad had coached the cheater husband's kids, etc. Unrealistic that cheater wife disappeared and cheater husband got such a long prison term.

Too Quick Revenge or Rebound Sex

Too quick to hop into the next bed by both of the "innocent" spouses. Cost a star. Too quick for all children to switch sides. Surely one of them must have realized that the two "innocent" spouses talking re-marriage when the divorce petition (or complaint in some states) had not even been served on either cheating spouse (and it's not clear if they have even been filed with the court) meant something serious was up with the innocent spouses.

Also, both "innocent spouses" lost one half star in my rating for their adulterous conduct. Until their divorces were final, they were legally married to the cheaters.

Next, Mary's dissappearance off the face of the earth left Nick with some property distribution issues. If the hous was in both names, he's going to need to take steps to get her off the title. Insome states, he'll have to wait seven years to get her judicially decreed dead, and then seek to lear the title. (As with an Affidavit of Survivorship in Minnesota.) There may be pensions and annuities to divide. After 22 years of marriage, cheating, adulterous Mary is entitled to a piece of them. So he's going to have to look for her at some point. 1/2 star.

Finally, 8 to 15 years for what in most states is a misdemeanor offense (meaning six months of confinement at most, and a small fine ($1000 maximum in Minnesota --Minn. Stat. Section 609.224) is way too over the top.

Of course, in Minnesota, the thrat might be considered a terroristic threat, Minn. Stat.

Section 609.713, which is a felony, punishable by five years in confinement. (Most states don't have such an overly broad and draconian law however, and require the threatened personactuallybe put in fear, and again, in many states, this is only a misdemeanor. So in most states, he's not going to much, if any, jail time. One more star.

Well written, very real, close to my experience.

I was "clueless" also. We were having trouble; she was recovering from alcoholism; I was doing group counselling; she requested we seperate for 90 days at the suggestion of her conselor; she promised we would both gain if I could give her a little time; the kids (5 & 7) cried a lot because they wanted both of their parents; I remained celibate (first time in 20 years); she promised we were almost ready to get back together but needed another 30 days . . . at the end of six months she admitted she had been having sex with several guys and didn't want a divorce because she knew she could not get as much money as I was giving her during the seperation. Lot's of crap had happened over our 12 years together, but I kept hoping it would get better . . . damn I hurt for a year! Now (35 years later) I don't and we are friends because we share two daughters, two grandchildren, and 35 years of recovery. It is not the way I wanted, thank goodness; it is even better. I have four more step children, five step grandchildren, and have been married to the same wonderful woman for 35 years. NO, it is not the way I planned it to be, but it is better than I had ever hoped it could be.

Ya, the story was hard to read; ya I remembered the pain; I also remember the rush of love I felt when I met the lady who was to become my 2nd wife (for 35 years). Times were financially hard, but the love we shared all this time (she just died two weeks ago) made it all worthwhile. The troubles were transient but the love remains. Lynn

I'm with big guy 323...the real crime is throwing out the PIzza!!!

Yeah, I read through all 48 comments and only Bigguy commented on the shameful act of throwing away perfectly good pizza! The rest...eh, who cares. She disappears, he goes to jail for a redicously long time....hey, they were stupid! But throwing away perfectly good pizza...now that is just unbelievable!

Calm down dear it's only a story

Do not know why I missed this when it came out. I went back and read all the comments they did make me laugh. A work of fiction (fiction is the form of any narrative or informative work that deals, in part or in whole, with information or events that are not factual, but rather, imaginary) I was taught this in primary school.

There used to be an advert for an insurance company with Michael Winner where very over the top things happened with people getting upset at which point he would say "Calm down dear it's only an advert"

Maybe you need to add a stipulation Scorpio.

It seems some readers don’t understand the meaning of the term fiction.

I think it was a good story that happened in your own little world where anything is possible. Please keep on writing and thanks for sharing.

Good Story

The cheaters were caught. Mary took off like a scared rabbit and Alex was a dick and got sent to jail for it.

And they all lived happily ever after. Well, maybe in an alternative universe anyway.

Nice job, Scorpio

Keep writing, please. Fantasy or not. Real life or not. I, personally, enjoy stories that give at least some semblance of lemonade from lemons. Your fans await another gem.

"Some things aren't believable."

The comment was made and measured against the life, times and circumstances of the commenters life, accurate. However... I wasn't writing about the hometown of anyone who ill or might read the story. I was writing fiction. The most successful film in history was written about a world where tall green people lived in trees! AVATAR wasn't about where any of us live. Neither was this story.

Readers looking for stories about the world where they live should invest in their local newspapers and even then they will get a biased view of the world. I inject some real cities, restaurants, highways and situations that have happened and mix them with fiction.

Some of his suggestions are really good ones. I look forward to reading a story he submits.
