Most Enjoyable.

I read this story when it was last printed, and enjoyed it very much.

I re-read this one, and I am most gratified to read that you are going to post the follow up.

Well done and keep up the good work.

from a greatly satisfied U.K. reader.

Wonderful story. I can hardly wait until the next chapter. The characters are well written and I have spent the last half hour feeling as if I know them personally and can see London through their eyes. I am not easily impressed by literary works but this is one of my favorites. Thank you for writing such a great story.

Howso?

The war of 1812 an unmitigated disaster? In what respect? Canada was saved from becoming a US province, and the blocade-runners were effectively checked until after Napoleon surrendered. Considering that President Madison embarked on the war for essentially expansionist reasons, it was an unqualified failure for his administration. Why would a Royal Navy Captain have seen it as a disaster?

Great Read!

Attention to period marine culture, customs and ship details were worth the effort put forth, making this a spectacular read. I thank you and will look forward to more from your pen. HDF

Wow, I learned from about sailing and LOVED how you introduced French dialogue - and the English translation!! Merveilleux 💃🏽

"La veuve du Geoffrey Stanhope de lieutenant et la mère de son fils!"

Absolutely Absorbing.

Exceptionally entertaining story. Can only hope the remainder continues as great as the first part. Excuse the short remarks but must get back to reading this tale.

Too saccharine.

Hail the ever victorious hero is a good ending, but not for every paragraph.

Now this is what a story is supposed to be... I don't give a rats ass about right or wrong categories... or whether or not a reader thinks there's enough fuckin' going on... this is entertaining as hell... and damned engrossing... well done... maybe the oxy's got me in a euphoric mood... or maybe ths story's just that good... but I'm really enjoying this one...

Acknowledge Patrick O Brien as your muse.

Superb reimagining of O Briens Maturin/Aubrey novels (of which there are 20- all brilliant). If you like this you'll love them. Library probably a good source. Google or a good dictionary advisable. My favourite word, which he uses frequently, is " Celerity ".

Geoffrey, Ireland.

Outstanding saga. With a swashbuckling mother no less!

I never expected to read a swashbuckling saga here. This really is a superb piece of writing. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone who likes a well written tale. BardnotBard
