If you do another chapter, take the time to explain how the characters got where they are. Why is Danny an only child? Readdressing my comment for 2, there's no mention of marital problems yet there's no guilt by Danny or Ali. What's up with that? I get Shelly and Danny based on your setup to them, but the mom doesn't flow with what you gave us. Probably best to end series here unless you fill in the gaps. You could have them end the day with a "we all need to talk" discussion that could reveal the backstory. Maybe the dad is having an affair, maybe his work trip isn't what it seems and he's meeting his mistress somewhere, things like that. There's also the obvious thing like birth control for Ali. (Shelly was single, so likely on it.) Did father have a vasectomy? 3*

I loved this third chapter although I would have liked it to be longer. I'd like the story to continue with at least one more chapter in which we could find out that Ali's husband is cheating on her so she divorces him and Danny ends up living with his mother and aunt as his de facto wives.

If sisters like to share, I think Shelly must get her daughters to come visit, and they will do a surprise visit during the fun.
