Any normal police officer would begin his investigation with the victim and those around him. It is incomprehensible why the investigation focuses exclusively on the location where the body was found. A showstopper.

If only you'd read a little further. There's plenty of hints in parts one and two that suggest additional investigation is going on outside the wastewater plant, plus I intentionally built skips into the timeline for stuff to happen that I didn't want to detail. It's boring to write, and read about, a police officer going the drudgery of questioning people on a fishing expedition.

.

Some of the details of “begin his investigation with the victim and those around him” actually takes place in parts three and four.

So far so good.

My BOD ( brain O2 demand ) is losing to the plant operation

Data from 2015 suggests that residential demand in NC is 80-90 G/C/D or 2.3 MGD +/-.Est pop is 23000. If low flow is say 1 mgd what accounts for rates above 4-5 mgd. Rain not mentioned. Combined system seems off.

Industry during the day, plus the typical cooking, bath and bed, and washing routines for most families. Middle of the night (the 1 MGD) is when everyone is sleeping.
