It's just a story and the author can write it however, but there are so many things to this point that are just not believable. Gary is supposed to be a wimp (and he is) but he punches a man holding a gun? Seriously?

Daughters were from Louisa May Alcott. Jessie Channeled Lady Mc Beth. Gary was faithful yet as henpecked as Father Abraham, with the patience of Job. (Pride goeth before the fall?)

Xhunter4u, I dont think Gary is meant to be a wimp, ai think he wants to br the father he didnt had, and the good husband his mother didnt got. But is taken to a very unhealthy end. I think thats why he is still trying to help her. Ive known people like him at a less extreme level, and Ive seen them fight armed robbers with their bare hands to protect whats theirs. He may be willing to take a lot of shit thrown at him, but not at his family.
