This is a great story about a man treated badly by a cheating wife and the legal system. He had the assets to take harsh revenge on those who wronged him, and he took nuclear revenge. I didn’t like hurting the innocent family, but it made his point. The comments show the usual LW divide concerning being vindictive to the cheating wife and lovers. Lily deserved everything that happened to her, and more. The lovers apparently got off easy.

You never forced her to address the lie about molesting his daughter. That would be the worst thing she did to a loving father.

Don't know how it happened. Might have been the cat walking on the keyboard but, I gave it a score of 2* instead of the 5* I intended.

To address the naysayers, I don’t think those people have ever had their whole life ripped apart, every thing of value that could be, taken from them, to have “the man” shove it right up their ass and break it off, and then get them locked up on specious charges. Only to be beaten brutally in an attack set up by the so-called “Good Guys”.Yeah, walk a mile in a man’s shoes, then judge him. Sure, it’s a fictional story. But could it happen? Hell, it probably has. “Kurt” just happened to have the resources to push back without resorting to deadly violence. Many people wouldn’t. But like they used to say, “Payback Is A Bitch”. with the outing of the judge, the MC's case would have been reopened, and he would have been released. The judgment of the court would also have been revisited. Still, an entertaining story beginning to end!

I like it. He has a Devil inside of him. Reading about those martyrs gets tiring.

A Southie saying...'I really need to cleanse my palette of the jail food'. As unrealistic as the rest of the story. A good story is the struggle through reality, not a fitted puzzle that always ends with a happy ending.

Why would the author allow Lily anything more than becoming a street walking whore? That's what she is! The revenge against her was weak and wimpy in my opinion. 1 star for the way it turned out.

This story is MEAN! I've never seen a revenge run this elaborate outside of a Tarantino flick. I'm not a fan of going after people's loved ones, but a bunch of lowlifes tuning a dude up for a crooked judge is a blatant violation of Street Rules(we DON'T talk to or assist law enforcement in ANY way, shape or form, legally or not, unless the victim is also law enforcement), and that puts them outside the Street Code of Honor(we handle problems between us, no proxies, no crowds and no public statements, PERIOD.), and a guy in jail should know this well enough not to get involved. You can always be hurt, and there's always a snake who's willing to do something so awful you can't even conceive it... So be nice, you motherfucker!

Gave this story a 5/5. Short stories are a difficult venue to develop characters. Your writing developed most of them as it went along. Like strong characters...Tex and Gina's development was great. Wife's characterand others was also well developed without going back to the 5th grade picnic. Also you didn't make Tex's stay in prison a B.S. situation. He took his lumps without turning him into a MMA fighter. Will red more of your work with high expectations. BTRH

Great BTB. My first wife (and her mother) were the "social climbers." Me, I had a fantastic career, made many friends in the business world who thought like me (sort of a "south side" type). They were real people, from a board chairman, to the mechanic that repaired my cars, and everyone in-between who did not have their noses in the air. My present wife is the perfect woman for me, and we're married for 37 great years.
