"Well you aren't wrong." He grinned wolfishly.
She gave him a despairing look.
"You deal with the cards you are dealt. It's just how it is."
Rain closed his eyes and made himself as comfortable as was reasonable considering where he lay.
"I'm going to make my cards grow however," he murmured.
He felt her hand stiffen for a moment before relaxing. He fell asleep listening to her breathing and Opal and Red arguing.
I don't see the problem with Lyra's low level; they just to level her up, as they are feedin' Da Beast.
Eazy, peazy, as Opal would say. LOL
You do had a talent for story telling, and have the makings of a best selling Sci Fi series on your hands. You just need to find a competent, professional editor, with experience in the genre.
They typically only come with book deals, but with the Internet, and the way it has changed everything, you might be able to find one who will partner with you, for a split. A solid re-working with a real editor, (not a Lit proofreading editor; I'm talking publishing world editor), and this would have a great chance at a book deal.
Until a lot of the great, and unique, stories on Lit, not filling it with sex is too your benefit. Two of the top Sci Fi works on Lit are perfect examples of how much work, and the impossibility of turning a Lit 'best' into mainstream best seller.
'Three Square Meals' would be impossible to cross-over; the entire story premise is based on content which is just too much for main stream. Even though it is as fine a space opera as has ever been created.
'The Red Sister' series by Etaski was a story line where the smut could be extracted or tamed enough for main stream. It has been several years of full time work, only made possible by those of us helping her through Patreon, for her to re-work it for self publishing, I haven't read any of the re-work, yet. I'm waiting until she finishes the entire story act, so I can read it all, without waiting for her to finish it.
Food for thought, for you. Hope it helps, no matter your plans/goals/dreams.
