The door opened and the cool fresh air slapped me back to reality; it had gotten quite stifling in the tiny room.
My cart was still outside the restroom, I resumed pushing it and headed to the checkout. He was in step with me, but after a few paces touched my arm to stop me and asked if we were good, I said yes and he smiled and headed to the exit.
Final score, 2:3 I can live with that. 10 minutes later while I was loading my groceries into the back of my jeep, my phone buzzed and it was a WhatsApp message from Jay, "Let me know if you want to talk, or I'd be happy to meet you at Costco if that's where you're headed next, parking lot or bathroom, your choice."
