Another Van Myers... should I say specialty? As always, the pleasant, wholly believable romantic tales that you're so adept at. I'm pleased to see that all your stories now have decent scores. I used to find myself quite annoyed by some of the low scores you were initially awarded---if I were a small boy I would probably stamp my foot and shout "Not fair!" on your behalf. Still, all's right now. As usual with your tales, I find myself mentally casting them for a film. The trouble with this one is what I consider the perfect female leads are too old: Susan Sarandon or Sigourney Weaver. Perhaps you can write a more mature romance for them.

A long, well-paced, teasing build-up, guaranteed to get everyone in the holiday spirit, giving, unwrapping, anticipating, indulging.

That was a great love story, the only thing missing was a resolution between her and her friend. Other than that, I can totally see that happening! Please keep writing, I loved it!!

Really enjoyed this. You've crafted a truly unique story, the survivalist upbringing worked really well. But the emotions, internal conflict and subsequent abandoning the 'promises' as love won out made this very satisfying.

While I didn’t have Declan’s feral upbringing, when I was 21, I was just as clumsy and inept with the ladies. If I’d had a caring, patient Angela come into my life, take me by the hand, and show me the way, it would have saved me years of lonely, painful fumbling about. What a sweet story. 5 stars.

Very nice and romantic. But I couldn't give it a 5. Too close to being a cougar story. When I was younger, I was open to the possibility of having an older woman love me. My first wife was 9 months older than me. But each and every time it always turned out that they wanted to dominate me and take full control. I've never been submissive and never will be, so it always went down in flames. So from that perspective, I didn't enjoy the older woman side of your story. Sorry. 😞 4/5
