Interesting take on an epilogue / a redemption arc. Saddletramp1956 probably did Katie a bit dirty with the, ah, "used and abused" death. I like your idea of Heaven not being the end, but a part of the journey to redemption. That part being accountability and acceptance. The accountability part maybe could have been fleshed out a bit more. I feel that we could have spent some time on what lead up to Katie cheating. // I think you did mess up the timeline a bit, Katie got out of Purgatory about 5 years after she died. Her DiL was 3.5 months pregnant at the time. We jump forward to 15/16 years and her grandson is only 5? Shouldn't that be 10-11? // All in all I did enjoy your take on the ending. Read it in the spirit of the season, so 5/5 for that. Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays to you and yours.

That was heart wrenching. Thank goodness he was a good man and heaven allowed him to restore both their tortured souls.

Outstanding Read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

LT all I can say is, “Does it really fit in Sci-Fi & Fantasy?” Could just be a Non-Erotic tale. I believe there are many like me, who will think this tale is the ultimate Life Well Lived (LWL). I loved the tie-in to the afterlife.

To me you producing this tale in order to blend the two tales was a great feat. I want to thank ST for allowing you to create this one using theirs as a starting point. This one like many of your tales I rate in the top 2 categories 4 and 5 stars. I don’t give a lot Outstanding Read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ratings. However, having said that this one to me was worth ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating. But yeah, verily I can only give it an Outstanding Read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ rating.

Thank you for this one. I am looking forward to your future productions.

Keep Writing

Seriously? OK, who kidnapped LT56linebacker and replaced him with RAAC man hating garbage writer? This isn't "Happy Ending". Well, for good people. He suffered 15+ years, in torment and alone. The evil cheating bitch just felt bad, and then has undeserved happiness???? Wish I could give this 0 stars :(

With all due respect, this is literally the worst story from this author I ever read, by several orders of magnitude, and I'm truly sorry I fell for the misleading "happy ending" wording and wasted my time and emotions reading it :(

20 Big Blazing Stars for the Bear! Great Writing. BTW almost 10 years ago, Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, appeared to me live and in person at my work. Tuesday morning about 10 am. I was "wired" up on coffee, and had little to do at that moment, I felt like talking and walked to the other side of the office to chat at Cindy, while she was doing an invoice. She ignored me as usual, and I was just chatting away at her, when all of a sudden. Jesus appeared to my left. I'm 6ft and he appeared a few inches taller than me. I thought it was strange that I wasn't afraid, but I seemed to know that it was Jesus as he seemed to slowly appear. Finally, he did and spoke to me. "I have always loved you, and I've always been with you." WOW I am pondering the implications and realizing why I was still alive all these years later after I had spent my time in the 70's "splitting" the lanes. AKA driving my Harley on the white dotted lines on the Freeways at 100 mph as I passed everyone. Then the Lord said. "And I have given you all these Blessings" and waved his left arm and I could see thru the wall all the way out to the street, and there must have been 100 gift wrapped packages (blessings) but I didn't know what they were. I was staring at them when the Lord touched me on the Small of my back with his right hand; When he did that, I REALIZED that I was NOT worthy of ANY of these blessings, not even the smallest one. Realizing that made me start crying so intensely that I could hardly breathe and ran back to my desk to sit down. The Lord disappeared meanwhile. It really happened, There is a God, and he sees and hears EVERYTHING you say and do. Think about that. I was there. 10 years ago in FEB 2024 on the last Tuesday. Buster2U

Well done,

well done indeed.

What utter bullshit. The purgatory theme is just made up bullshit. In no portion of the Bible is there any reference to spending part time in hell preparing to be elevated. And reconnect with the cheating whore has him forgiving instantly all her torture inflicted on him and his son. No, not just no but HELL NO!! This story was a complete waste of ink and paper. LT56 should be ashamed to have let something this pathetic be published under his banner.

POV! "She took HIS hand..." "She told ME."

Why does he have to have a short miserable life while she gets a happy ending.?

1st lieutenant after being in the army for years? Don't write about things you know nothing about.

interesting sequel You would happen to be Catholic, would you? Nice wrap of to all of the corrupted. Missed the shout outs to the local landmarks and intersections that pepper your usual writing.

This felt weird, with an unsatisfying and unearned ending. 2*

It's the first time,

I have ever read a Christian story here. Well done, well done indeed!!

The original was straight up bland, just plot lines sewn together no realistic human emotions or depth displayed just some common words. He just accepts, forgives and says sorry?! What about actions? Reconciliation can decades and only then even just restore half of what a relationship used to be. The haste when it comes to emotions and the unnecessary details for the mundane aspects is sad.

Thanks for this. The Katie character had a pretty tortured end in the original story.

“This life is the time to meet God.”

She was an unrepentant adulterer. She was only sorry for how it turned out for her, not for the choices she made to hurt others.

There’s no repentance after death. This character would spend Eternity Below, looking up at her former husband who had been given a new wife spend Eternity with. She would suffer by always knowing what she could have had if she had chosen wisely.

Sounds like she was in hell not heaven, you're not supposed to hurt in heaven. She was constantly tormented by her past and not being able to forgive herself, that's doesn't sound like heaven it sounds like misery. Also Mary being the mother of Jesus has no sway over him, that's the stupidest shit I've ever heard of. Catholics arent Christians, they worship false gods and Believe themselves to be the way well the bible states it's thru the blood.

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

We have to tolerate the cheating slut while her husband, the victim, lives a lonely miserable life. Fucking stupid

AnonymousAnonymous3 months ago

This was not worth writing. At least with the original story you get the sense that the wife was responsible for her own death. Here, she gets a free pass after making her husband’s life miserable. Sorry, but this was a waste of time

I love your interpretations of the spiritual. Between the afterlife and Karma, I get a great deal of entertainment from your stories.

There are not enough stars

to tell you just how good your story is!!! ONE MILLION PLUS STARS!!!God bless you for this story!!!

HARDUP1957HARDUP195724 days ago

I loved everything but the way you ended it with your wife. As a catholic I was raised to believe that God is all forgiving and everyone would end up in heaven. As far as Kates life there has never been any prof she WILLINGLY was with Jake,

HARDUP1957HARDUP195724 days ago

Continued: she may have been under the impression that the afternoon lunch with Jake was to help Tom, she may have rebuffed his advances but hoped the interview was to help Tom gain the promotion he was looking for and never had willingly given herself to Jake so he drugged her without her knowing just like Tom was drugged and was unable to defend his wife. I know I have gone back to the original storyline (sorry!). I will end here. I just wanted you to know I was in tears at some points, very emotional. Great read, thank you,
