Needs at LEAST chapters two and three!!!

I suspected the wife early on thanks to her quick acceptance of her husband's change and her behavior, shaving him and just happening to have a strap on available. If it is the wife, then the story could be improved, IMO, by giving us clues to the wife's motivation. Regardless of the ethics of the wife's behavior I think you have a good start on a longer piece.
