The world generally understands and uses "ass" not 'arse', its the little things.

The story is set in the UK and the protagonist is British, "arse" is correct for this context.

Very sexy. Also nicely restrained. He gets a hand job, not full blown no holds barred sex which seems realistic under the circumstances.

The rest of the world, except the USA uses ARSE, so it is in its' correct context and usage.

can you writers publish anything that doesn't portray all the males as blathering idiots or sexual adolescents and all the females as dumb bimbo barbie dolls, that mess gets so boring after awhile. As for the ass/arse thing to most of the world an ass is an animal(donkey) an arse is your butt. It's a European thing as a holdover from the colonization era (the sun never sets on the British Empire rubbish).
