Everything is up in the air. With respect to the tree analogy in the title...remember, if a branch is dead..[julie]...it should be severed in order for the tree to grow stronger.
Well at least her husband is getting some. I will say this is one messed up family. What should happen is the husband should leave the wife and have fun with Joleene. At least she is being honest with husband.
give the wife a way out. Damn poor trick. The wife is a piece of work. The husband needs to stop the Jolene bit, divorce the slut wife, then marry Jolene. Simple and easy. To bad you didnt give him guts enough to stand by her car until she came out... End the charade, finish with the wife and get on with it without more side issues with Jolene.
No emotion, no rage, no revenge, no confrontation or end of marriage, just O.K. I'm gonna fuck around too. These two can cheat on each other this easily they have no marriage anyway. We have different ideas of marriage and communication, they might as well become swingers, feel sorry for their kids.
The previous poster has a valid point. The actions in the writer’s characters lead to some annoying gaps in story continuity. The characters are always provided with excuses to do or not to do certain things that appear quite illogical. The point in consuming work and time to follow, waiting and confirming while not staying by her car until she came out is completely illogical and wasteful. Likewise, “bumping “ into Jolene at the mall is “TOO” convenient. The writer should attempt to round out his characters to make them more believable. We also need Bob’s POV and please stop making Julie’s character more manly then necessary. Julie’s actions are not feminine at all…she appears to think and act like a man.
shallow Wretched and VERY predictable. The Husband's cheating is forced contrived and OUT of character.
<br></br>
The wife is clearly a delusional paranoid. She "justifies" her cheating becasue she <b>THOUGHT</b> that Mike was/ is cheating with Joelene.
<br></br>
In chapter 2 Mike was having PIZZA with Joelene and about 30 other people. If that isnt cheating what is? So
based on THAT "evidence" she fucked Bll several times.
<br></br>
Not just one time to get "even" but develops a full blown sexual affair.
<br></br>
<b>.Even when her friend Ann PROVES to her that her husband did NOT leave with Joelene ANN does NOT beleive her! I guess Ann is part of the "consipracy" as well?</b>
<br></br>
Now imagine what the confrontation scene was going to be between the wife and Husband ..."You decided to engage in sexual affair for becasue you didnt like the sound of Joelene's voice at the Pizza party?"
<br></br>
SO......The only way to save this Marriage is to have the husband cheat... with Joelene which of course somehow Justifies the wife's fears and actions.
<br></br>
yeeeech!
I do not think Julie really thinks Mike is cheating with Jolene. I think she is using that as a weak excuse to justify her cheating with Bob. Notice that, at the soccer game, when she starts thinking about the reasons to end the affair she doesn't try to justify her cheating with Mike's "cheating."<P>
Which of course brings up the point that Mike has now had a revenge fuck with Jolene. I have to agree with other posters that this is out of character and very contrived. He just "happened" to meet her immediately after getting positive confirmation that she is cheating? Unlikely. Have to give you a mark down for that. I for one would have liked him to head into the confrontation with Julie with his hands clean. Now her "excuse" actually has some basis.<P>
I'm betting he reconciles now that he can "revenge" himself with Jolene. I look forward to seeing what Julie does now that Ann as spilled the beans. Thanks for sharing.
wife in this story had being a whore and the writer wants to give the wife a way out.hubby as the story begins was a trustworthy man,why now make him a cheater too.writer should let the hubby go after the wife lover rather than cheat.destory the lover then see what wife can do to help put family back together or go to his lover.
Rewrite this chapter John. By having the victim become a scumbag like his wife, we the reader have no one to like. Mike can no longer criticize Julie's actions because they are his own. And this chapter is poorly thought out. The meeting with Jolene is contrived and why have Mike chase the cheaters only to let them fuck. As most people is the US live in a state with No Fault family laws, he should have confronted Julie before she entered Bob's apartment and then divorced her. He takes the high road and can then be pursued by Jolene. As it is right now, Jolene is no one anyone should want. After all she fucked a married man. Once a cheater always a cheater. The writing is good but the plot has gone downhill from the previous chapters and the characterization of Mike has gone to hell. Fix it. This was a good story.
Well, I am like it, good story so far, it has me wanting to see the next chapter and read where the author is taking the line.
slut wife's activities. The wife started this problem and the husband showed finish it by getting rid of the selfish slut and keeping Jolene. Interesting twist of plot direction for this author - but it is starting to seem like a "reconciliation at any costs" scenario.
I liked it that the husband reacted emotionally and cheated as well. makes the story more human. so many stories have the husband so perfect, nice to see this for a change.
It would be so sexy if she would just keep on cheating. I think Bob should show her what a slut should act like, and fuck her in the ass. Pound her pooper enough that it is hard to sit the next day. Let her feel like a real slut for a couple of days, and she will like the way she feels.... Rich
WHY DID YOU MAKE THE HUSBAND A CHEAT!!!! WHY DID THE HUSBAND NOT GO TO THE DOOR KNOCK???"PIZZA DELEVERY" YOU TRASHED THE STORY!!!
New story page it says"Bob discovers the truth".In the story there is no mention of Bob discovering anything,or Michael either(although he does suspect that she is fucking someone else)
You ruined the story for me by having him cheat too -She deserves what ever happens to her now!
While slow, your story development was on track and fairly well developed. Having the aggrieved husband react in kind reduces the story line to a hackneyed submission.
God, this is horrible! Not the writing, but the story. It's so painful. It's not that it hasn't happened before (I'm sure it has) nor that anything is wrong with the writing etc... It's just too unhappy to enjoy.
They are making such a mess of their lives, and they seem underneath it to be good people. I can't believe Michael did that. That seems so out of character. Is it some kind of set-up so they can say at the end "Well, we both cheated, we're even. (kiss, kiss, make up)"? Because, honestly, I see it as more a complete fireworks display of anger, incredibly hurt feelings, betrayal that can never be forgiven, and some kids who's lives are torn up by parents who quite suddenly would like to rip each other's throats out.
Again, I'm not criticizing your writing, or the plot, or whatever. It's just so sad, that it's not hot.
rewrite this chapter. You have changed mike from a hero to a zero cheating husband. The tag line was improper.Your writing is good.I liked the story but not this chapter. Please change it if you can.
attached to ? a telephonpost with handcuffs? to concrete if it's around your legs? for sure not to a single human beeing. you only have assholes in your story.
In reading all of the comments, it becomes quite obvious that a vast majority of the readers are woman hating, "kill the bitch" men, who are disappointed that Michael cheated because it dilutes their ability to blame every on the cheating slut and force them to admit that maybe the male might have a few faults. Wonderful way to illustrate the characteristics of your readers.

right and wrong. The wife was involved in adultry and the husband was not. That is the first item. The husband decides to fuck around on his marriage also. That is a different item. I dont think anyone should cheat in their marriage at all. A revenge fuck doesnt make either one right, just both wrong. If you have cancer growing in one of your arms, you dont take some cancer cells in the other arm to even it out. I object to the writer have the husband fuck around because it gives to credibility to having him wimp out and keep the "lying adulterous bitch". You dont have to be a woman hater to hate someone that lies, betrays their marriage, and places their family at risk for their behavior. It is almost as low as a person can go. You need to clean up your thinking guy.
Now all of your characters need killing. Got you head stuck in a bucket of shit do you???
I 'think' everybody about covered it all - start a new story and at least make one of them clean.! Two wrongs never make anything right. Was a good story up till WHAM "I will just have a Coke".!
I don't blame the husband a bit for starting up with Jolene. If he confronts the wife and gets a divorce, in most cases she gets the kids, alimony, the house, child support and he gets an apartment and all the bills. This way he can just keep his cool and do what he wants to do. The marriage vows were void when she screwed Bob.<p>Can't say that the story merits a 100 (it is quite stereotypical), but it is not a bad story and the plot makes sense to me. Although I will admit that Jolene doesn't come across as a very appealing character.
Now both of them are cheaters; ho hum; where will his "moral high ground" be now? This ruined the story for me. Too bad
Now you can have a happy reconciliation where they will spend the rest of their lives not trusting each other. At least you set up a reasonable excuse to leave the wife until the husband cheated - one wrong will make her wrong and so on - and would have allowed a clean break depending on the state he lived in. No more moral high ground for him. Either he will just give in or bask in the double standard. Of course now she can claim the kids, his income, his retirement, his cajones - at least one - and not feel bad about it. No more guilt for her, no sir. And for him: oops, he blew that, so to speak, did he not?
My two cents: I agree with most others that Mike's character is not commensurate with his jumping into bed with Jolene. There was really nothing to even suggest he had the hots for her. It also does not seem particularly human. My feeling is that most men would be angry about the discovery that their wives were lying and cheating with other men, but they would not really feel like hopping in to bed with other women that quickly. There would be a sense of distrust, maybe anger directed at all women, and jumping in with a casual "soccer mom" would not be particularly appealing. Maybe later, once the dust settles, but the timing just seems to be off in this case. I think ch. 03 was not as good as the first two chapters. I'll be interested to see where it goes from here. I think the marriage is basically dead, as one or more other readers already stated.
Hold on just a minute folks. Lets let this storyteller have his say. I read this today before I had to leave for an appt. In the 2+ hours I was away I thought of at least 5 very interesting plot twists that would (IMHO) be acceptable for this story to continue on. We as readers need to let the plot develop in it's own time, just as we "suspend reality" when going to the movies. Think about it: a pissed off husband embarking on an affair with a seemingly submissive divocee (with other divorced friends to ensnare?) A wife who has been carrying on with a younger man, who knows she should have quit after her return from Atlanta, but continues until her neighbor literally tells her the gig is up. Now she's waiting for the other shoe to drop, but hubby and subby are having to much fun to worry about her. She no longer has his undivided attention!

Kept it interesting and I'm waiting for nextchapter of your story. Thanks
You just couldn't resist. Now you have made all the mental images of a slut wife for real. Micheal discoveres his wife is cheating and he goes and cheats with the one woman that his wife's paranoid mind led her to ( or rather that she used as an excuse to cheat. You have made Micheal the worst kind of a wimp on earth and for that you get a zero. Are you trying to stretch a simple story out. Do you enjoy the readers waiting anxiously for your next episode. I wanted to see a cheating slut wife get caught. Whe she was in bob's apartment with him a REAL husband wouldn't act like Micheal did and cheat with the very woman that his paranoid slut wife gave as the excuse for her cheating. Now Micheal has involved another person, Jolene, in his affairs and has already hurt her by fucking her like the slut wife that his wife is. Aren't you the least bit ashamed of yourself?marriedwithballs@yahoo.com

Now she is showing some remorse. But not enough remorse to stop. But it is probably too late, now that he is getting some on the side. And he does have some remorse.
that Michael is no better than Julie. It doesn't matter who started it, both are cheats. Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Nothing to choose between them.
Who would give a shit about these worthless POS characters, who'd do the world a great service by jumping off a bridge?
Just when the husband finds out he then instantly is seduced by another woman and cheats. Wow is that your answer to betrayal? Have the husband do it as well and so it is even Steven, so the cheaters can then reconcile. God it is so pathetic.
What about true remorse, what about consequences....
Apparently there was a big increase in Michael's suspicions between Chapters 2 and 3. All of a sudden Michael calls him a "boyfriend" and takes serious steps with spying.
