Four Hours to Edinburgh Ch. 02

Peter now began the gentle task of waking his wife. He said her name softly while gently stroking her cheek; she began to stir as the effects of her tablets wore off just as they were pulling into Edinburgh Waverley station.

As they were departing the compartment, they said their goodbyes. Peter surprised Fliss by saying, "Bye girls, it was a real pleasure travelling with you."

As the girls drifted off, Fliss said "I take it they calmed down and behaved themselves during the journey then; I feared the worst for you when they made their appearance."

Peter smiled at his wife and said, "The journey couldn't have gone any better."
