And she got the house and everything else. I'd think she'd file for a divorce, get a Court Order for alimony and 1/2 the assets he took and wait. Once Bill and Mary Alice show up, they'll be in jail and Alisha will get paid. Cheaters all around. Not a good person to be found except the daughter. UGH! And why did you write a story for an Invitational that's long since over? Simon has left the building and nobody cares.

But if Alisha wants a good lawyer who will certainly find the money and make Bill feel very stupid, she should have no difficulty finding one. It's a very lucrative business these days and the idiot put her in a position where she has nothing to lose-always a mistake.

A line like that is always an indication that the story will be about how much the wife doesn't love the husband.

Utterly sad and depressing of course but still a very well spun tale. Makes me wonder if it were a true story would the original pair of cheaters would stay together? If they were that crazy about each other then the money shouldn’t have mattered.

They should have just had the decency to get divorced.

Has struck again! First, you have Bluetooth connections that can transmit someone's phone conversation through another out of range speaker. Then there's the homemade drugs that can transmit an STD to only one person. Now we have pens that transmit conversations. You gotta love it!!

It seemed rushed to me. It might have better if Alisha and Bill had a talk about things. She seemed to rush everything as did Darn. They did get what they deserved in the end and as usual Bill got Darn's wife.

Unusual to her the wife telling the story but I liked it.

I think it might have been better to use it all the way through. She could have been using it disparagingly, and then it would have been a real corker at the end.

Do you really think they care about the damned house? Read again, they are traveling the World. Why would he be ordered to pay alimony, she did have a job, maybe she kept it, maybe she didn't but again they are traveling the World. When I found out what my cheater was doing I did just what they did, emptied the accounts and opened new ones in another bank. I made sure she couldn't use the credit card I had put her name on, they informed me she tried to max it out a couple of days later. Outcome; I had receipts for everything I spent and didn't have to pay back a dime. I really helps if you do it before papers are filed, at that point you are just moving your own money. For what it's worth I paid every penny of support as ordered till I got full custody. It was sad-funny how she was always dressed to the nines, the girls not so much so I'm sure the support was used just the way it was supposed to be. Good job, Skippy. Signed: BTW

Sadly though it was lacking in any emotion, drama or angst.

No actual confrontation or conversation with husband and wife, it was really quite bland and probably totally unrealistic.

Whilst not needed it would have been nice to continue the story just a little further and describe the bitches reaction, it’s great to see the pain of failure when despicable plans are thwarted.

Once again it passed some time during lockdown lol

The story was interesting when exploring the wife's mindset as she started adultery.

But story fell apart on the BTB part. As another commentator mentioned, a good lawyer would have both Bill and Mary Alice up the wall. How long could Bill and Mary Alice stay out of the country and off the grid without hurting themselves?

What fun reading through the comments - the financial and legal geniuses have flocked on this story. Not to mention the gimme-more-details brigade.

Just so you all know, Bill and Mary Alice got excellent advice and transferred all funds directly to Cayman banks, outside the local jurisdiction. Since Mary Alice's family owned the company outright, Darnell and Alisha were demoted and now he is the night janitor and she sorts mail in the basement. Both houses left behind are burdened by mortgages. Now headquartered at their villa in the Greek islands, the traveling duo never need return to the home country and easily entertain family and friends as guests there. Liz even holds her wedding ceremony at the villa, but Mom isn't invited and can't afford to crash the party.

Frankly, I don't feel these details add anything to a fine, well written story. Please ignore them.

Ha!!! A good lawyer or even a great lawyer cannot force Bill and Mary Alice to give 1/2 of the money back. No divorce at that time so the money was literally fair game. Good story... thanks, BJH

What's with these comments here?

If the assets were jointly held and there was no divorce action? They took their own money. What would a lawyer do?

If the assets were sent off shore? And transferred a few times? You cannot really get that money back.

And I beg to differ with those who argue here about not being able to live abroad. Geez people. With a couple of million dollars you can live quite comfortably abroad for a very long time. And Mary Alice's family had even more money...so she'd be able to get access to more if needed.

He only had one child. Not a big deal to have her fly over to Spain or Italy or Greece or the Baltic region to visit when needed. There are some truly lovely places in Europe where you can live quite nicely for decades without having to come back to the states. The cheating spouses can get divorces based on abandonment after a few years. And then can get on with their lives. Still young enough to start over and fuck each other silly for many years to come. Hopefully a little bit wiser and more wary about trusting in the future.

Nope. Not enough accountability on the selfish excuse for a wife or the scumbag predator. As a writer, if you don't take a serious stand for what's right, just enabling the bad behavior.

The 2nd phone is really a very bad option if the cheaters wanted to be really careful.

Detail at ending was sparse. 4*
