An end and a new beginning ...

The interpretation of the story of Mary annointing Jesus' feet with oil is superb. That Ruth's 'Lover of Jesus' was considered scandalous in Margaret Thatcher's England is not surprising. Everything in Jesus' life was scandalous, going against the way the world is supposed to work.

Giving without receiving, being better by being broken, the meaning of these apparent contradictions is only understood when one accepts the risk of losing, of letting go instead of trying to hold on at any price.

Pixie lets go of any resentment and feeling of guilt toward Ruth and is now free. The same cannot be said for Millie who is stuck in the way of thinking how things are supposed to be, and sadly also for Ruth who is now stuck with Millie.

Pixie reminded Ruth of who Ruth once was and who Ruth could possibly be again if she wouldn't cling to the false security of having Millie around.

Pixie's magnanimity has a profound effect on her wife. Therefore the lovemaking scene is essential. Just like Jesus accepted Mary's spontaneous act of love, Pixie accepts Ali's gift of orgasmic rapture. By losing themselves, lovers find each other.

Poignant

A poignant and fitting end to what has become, over the chapters, a warm and touching story. I'm not a religious person (agnostic lapsed Irish Catholic) but as I've advanced well into old age I have come to understand why others find comfort in their faith and this has been beautifully illustrated in Guilt & Redemption. It was good to see a spark of (shall I say contrition?) in Ruth, despite the attempted put-downs by Milly. Sadly there are too many Millies in this world, often mediocre persons, unable to stand situations where the spotlight does not fall directly upon them. At least Pixie was able to handle Milly's interventions with dignity. Thank you for a wonderful series, Pixie.

[It's a pity they don't have Doctoral robes in your size---you would probably look good in scarlet (I take it Oxford D.Phils do wear scarlet?)]

Wow.....,,.... That was a stunning conclusion to an amazing series.

There were soooo many hooks and reoccurring themes that worked to drive the narrative home.

Being a fan of healthy D/s in relationships, I thought G&D captured the physical, emotional, and psychological dynamics perfectly..

Pixie's generous treatment of Ruth before, during, and after the interview was nothing short of noble.

Ruth showing vulnerabity in an interesting role reversal, really helped to rehabilitate her character.

Milly was the perfect foil, and served a crucial role in helping understand the fluidity of D/s relationships over time, and their symbiotic nature.

Ali was a rock whose unfailing love and encouragement facilitated the resolution of Pixie's guilt and the redemption of her soul.

Exceptional!!!!

That was an absolutely perfect ending. I was actually happy with how things ended between Pixie and Ruth, in which there was at least some understanding between the two. And no lingering animosity. Of course, the lovemaking scene between Pixie and Ali which followed was magnificent... as was the very last line of the story. If only I could give this an infinite number of stars. Alas, 5 will have to do.

Thank you so much Maonaigh. The tale does not have a happy ending for all, but of course while there is life there is hope. “Ruth” has, in my view, paid a high price for what she has, but she seems to think it worth it, and whatever one can say about “Milly” she sticks to her part of the deal. It’s amazing what you can do with pins on graduation days xx

Your comments touched my heart, Anonymous. I am glad I was able to portray something of the fluid dynamics of the d/s relationship. Looking back, I wonder whether Ruth was ever really d, except in relation to me, because I was most decidedly sub. Ali, bless her, has worked with some i promising raw material, and any plus points are due to her. I am so glad you enjoyed this series xx

That was the most beautiful story I have read. I can't stop crying. I feel for Ruth, I didn't until this chapter. I wanted to scratch her eyes out. That sounds so ... now I want to hug her. Sometimes God does give us what we deserve, and it is not always what we think we want. Thank you for sharing and giving me the opportunity to read it. I can't help but feel that Ruth was pretending to be someone she really wasn't, there is only so long one can pretend no matter how much we love the person we are pretending for. How great a monster are you when you finally admit the truth about yourself, and who are you being crueler to. Ruth was pretending, Pixie was not, the pain for Pixie was to learn the lie but the true pain was Ruth having to live it. I don't even know where to go with this now.

Thank you so much, S. I wanted to try to bring out what I only n, which was that in her own way, Ruth was a victim, of her own ambition as well as of Milly’s. That second novel never has appeared. x

Loved the whole series, Pixie, and can't imagine how cathartic this must have been. The "ending" is perfect, because there is no "ending" - you rock!

Splendid! I always love the beautiful way you right but this story is for me, of classic proportions. The characters stood out as individuals and made their own contributions. I love the way the Milly became the simple sideshow that she deserved to be. Thank you xxx

'Splendid' was the word that set itself in my mind before I scrolled down and saw Evie's comment. But hat is the word for it and so I am just going to repeat it: splendid! It has moved me so much, thank you!

Pixie - I couldn't help but smile the whole time while reading these last 2 chapters. Ruth did not deserve Pixie's heart and in the end it was exposed what a simple minded self absorbing person Milly was , and that is what Ruth deserved.

And it is a great way to end this series as it is a a perfect contrast to what Pixie deserves ... the unconditional love from Ali. And Pixies love for Ali. It is as simple as noon daylight versus midnite darkness.

Well done and as always, well written ! Loved IT!!

Marvelous ...... Unfortunately a kind of lifestyle romance and normality in this story is horrible ...... I mean the heartless soulless societys actions ...... Thank you Lady Pixiehoff for touching those delicate sensual themes and writing them into romantic storie lines ...... Congrats

The denouement of this marvelous series was worth the time invested in reading it. I think it reveals the soul, the character and the compassion of Pixie. It would be easy, even human, to revel in the frumpy appearance of Ruth and how her life has seemingly caught up with her. Not everyone could or would display the grace and courtesy that Pixie shows here. Yes, this story/series has come full circle - a redemption if you will. Really, well done!.xxxxxxx

Absolutely the best story I have ever read here. Your talent, truly beyond my vocabulary. Your passion for writing is tops. To see Ali and Pixie overcome challenges and situations all the while growing and learning created a sense of no greater love existing.

To see Pixie herself evolve from the early tears I shed to what she has become makes my heart and soul flow with you. Pixiehoff your talent is beyond belief. Thank your sharing this amazing journey.

Pixie so gracefully putting herself on terms with Ruth. Pixie's newly bright feathers dazzling her old Mistress who got what she deserved in Milly. The final sex scene is so beautiful and powerful, describing two star crossed lovers and their intimate bond perfectly. I adore the ending too, with little Pixie taking her first prayer service. The perfect conclusion to the story. Thank you Pixie for sharing this wonderful story with us.
