They hadn't even made it into the club yet, but Silver already found themselves tapping their foot along to the infectious pulse of the bassline radiating out from the door ahead of them. The purple glow from the entryway seemed to shift and move in time with the beat, and the eager clubgoer idly swayed back and forth in time. The queue had felt agonisingly slow, with what felt like half the city out in force to shuffle slowly forward towards the tall bouncer Silver had been eyeing up ever since they caught sight of her.

The busy line wasn't a surprise though. This was, after all, Club Hive, the hottest new spot in town, an exclusive nightclub which only let in a chosen few. The criteria for getting in was obscure and unknown, with even the most well-known socialites finding themselves left out to dry based on nothing more than the word of the bouncers. Silver was hoping against hope that they would make it inside, though; the whispers they had heard of the raucous parties going on within had left them more than eager to dive in -- eager enough to come alone, to an unfamiliar environment, wearing little more than a few loose and flowy strips of fabric underneath a heavy coat, which was entirely failing to keep out the chill of the late night.

Another shuffle forward, another few steps closer. The bassline was getting more and more compelling, and Silver found themselves slipping into their own head, zoning out as a rhythm seemed to settle into their core, the rest of the grumbling people in the line fading away into nothing but smears of faint colour. Another shuffle, another step. They were shaken from their haze as an outcry went up from the pair of girls ahead of them, both of them erupting in a slew of whining and pleading at the bouncer blocking them with her arms crossed, a stern look on her face. She delivered a command in a firm monotone:

"Rules must be obeyed. Move along."

With a final round of exasperated sighs, the pair strode away from the line, faces locked into frowns. Silver's eyes tracked them moving away, taking note of how they were impeccably dressed, well made-up, perfectly suited to any club they had been in -- if these two weren't making it in, what hope would they have?

"Present I.D."

The bouncer was right in front of them, towering Silver's short, stocky body. The clubgoer's nervous eyes flicked down, finding an imposing pair of heeled boots leading up to a strangely shiny material on the bouncer's legs, disappearing into the long coat of her uniform, but then-

"Repeat request."

"Ah, um, sorry! Here!" Silver quickly started fumbling with their coat, pulling out an old licence and handing it over, hand shaking slightly with nerves. The bouncer took it in a gloved hand, coated with that same shiny material that Silver found themselves strangely captivated by, and stared at it intensely. Suddenly, the bouncer's eyes darted up to lock with Silver's.

"Look at me."

They couldn't help but follow the command as they fell into the bouncer's eyes, a deep, dark purple -- surely just from the light spilling out from the club -- which seemed to just swallow everything up. They felt themselves sinking deeper, deeper, sinking in, as their mind seemed to just go blank, all of their thoughts slipping through their grasp-

"Suitability confirmed. Proceed inside."

What? Did that mean they were in? The bouncer stepped aside, gesturing towards that pulsing, beating purple light coming from inside the club. Silver waited, feeling themselves on the precipice of... something. The enticing light and infectious sub-bass vibration was pulling them forward, but they couldn't shake the feeling that they'd come out of this club somehow different than they went in.

"Proceed, now."

Before they knew it, Silver's legs were in motion, carrying them forward through the doorway. It was like stepping through some sort of portal as the purple glow immediately infused the entire world, casting everything in its deep colour. They lost track of themselves for a moment, stepping through flashes of moments; shedding their coat to a gently gesturing hand from a cloakroom, gloved in that slick material; drifting through a long, twisting corridor with swirling patterns covering the walls; then, finally, reaching the main room, looking out on a pulsing, bouncing mass of people dancing their lives away.

The room was packed, moving in unison along with the beat of the music. Silver looked around for a moment and spotted the DJ in a booth at the front of the crowd, dancing to their own soundtrack. It was hard to pick out details, but as Silver squinted through the hazy air of the club they spotted a strange helmet wrapped around the DJ's head, a pair of glowing purple lenses shining like spotlights in the dim room. The focus of the entire space was a bright neon sign hanging over the stage, calling out just one simple word -- HIVE.

Something lightly bumped Silver from behind, and the added momentum was enough to carry them down into the crowd. Almost immediately they were completely gone, losing their bearings, totally immersed on the surging, heaving dancefloor. They moved to the bass, jumped with the beat, their body an instrument of the music, reacting and responding to the infectious atmosphere of the crowd. They pressed their body up against others, felt strangely slick materials sliding across their skin, sweat pouring off them and mixing with that of others. They couldn't stop the wide smile forming on their face. They didn't want to.

Eventually, finally, after what might have been minutes or hours, they took a break and staggered their way to the bar, breaking out into a small clearing around the counter, the crowd like a wall of writhing bodies and pulsing flesh behind them. Leaning over, Silver looked for a bartender, their eyes widening as they spotted a tall, lithe figure clad entirely in that enticingly slick and shiny material they had been eyeing up all night.

Their body -- utterly androgynous, despite the smooth suit leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination -- was completely encased, and their face seemed to have also been hidden behind some sort of mask, totally smooth and featureless. For a moment, Silver thought they had been totally mistaken, and that it was just some sort of statue, before that smooth, blank face smoothly pivoted towards them, and they started to walk towards them. A voice emanated from beneath the mask, flat and neutral.

"Drink?"

"Um... Uh... Could I ha-"

A sudden interruption came as someone hopped onto a stool next to Silver, jumping into the conversation. "This one can have the house special, and get me my usual, please!" Silver quickly turned to look at the newcomer, finding a grinning, eager face staring back at them. "Saw you lookin' lonely over here and just couldn't leave a pretty thing like you to drink alone! What's your name?" The girlish clubgoer was dressed in a loose, layered dress, covering everything below her neck in rustling, shimmering fabric.

"I'm Silver, this is my first time here!"

"Yeah, I know! I can tell!" The girl's grin widened, somehow, her eyes creasing up in a way that set Silver's heart fluttering. "You move like a newbie. But don't worry, now that you're in, you'll have no trouble getting into the groove. Enjoying the music?"

As Silver started to pay attention to the music, finding that thumping bassline sinking back into their mind, the strange, mannequin-like bartender placed a small glass down in front of them, filled with a deep purple liquid, another glass going down next to the girl.

"The drink is called Hive, you'll never guess why! Try it, it's really good stuff! Oh, and you can call me Elvira!"

Silver moved to follow the suggestion before they even noticed it, the glass touching their lips, the strangely syrup-like liquid filling their mouth with a perfectly sweet taste. Their eyes went wide as they swallowed it, a deep, throbbing heat quickly starting to build up in their body. "O-oh, yeah, that's good... It's nice to meet you!"

"Are you usually this shy? Or do you just find me attractive?" Silver suddenly choked down another gulp of the drink, an intense blush coming over their face. Elvira just began to giggle, "That explains that! Don't get too nervous, darling, if you're in here then you belong here, okay?"

If they were still in their right mind, Silver might have started picking up the strange attitude coming from Elvira, but the Hive had settled deep into their system, a buzz starting to grow from their core, a mix that they slowly, sluggishly identified as a combination of lust and intoxication, steadily suffusing their body.

"Alright, finish up, let's dance more! Lemme get my hands on you, cutie!" Elvira's grin was teasing as they reached out to touch Silver's bare shoulder, and they suddenly realised that the girl was wearing a pair of those shiny gloves, the slick, smooth material pressing against their skin. Instantly, a deep pulse of sensation emanated from the contact, reacting with that buzz building up inside their body, making them let out a faint gasp. "First time touching latex? It's a pretty common choice here, you'll probably find yourself in it soon. Like it?"

"I... think so!" Silver's cheeks were burning, and to try and maintain some dignity they grabbed their glass, downed the rest of the thick purple drink, and stood up, "Let's dance!"

Elvira giggled again and took Silver's hand, dragging them back into the heaving crowd. The pair danced their way through the room, pressing against each other, staying in each other's space, latex-clad hands slipping across bare flesh, shimmering fabric glimmering in the purple glow, lips pressing against lips, moving in sync with the beat. Silver's instincts took control, their mind distant and unneeded, simply existing in the moment. It felt perfect.

After a time, Silver felt a rubber hand taking theirs, slowly pulling them towards the back of the room, finding a dark door at the edge of the dance floor and being pulled through. Elvira's giggling, lilting tone enticed Silver onwards, their mind completely hazy from the dance floor and the drink infusing their system. The pulsing bass still resonated through their body, driving them onwards, matched with the pulsing lust bubbling up inside them. Elvira brought them to a wider chamber, the walls mirrored and reflecting the dim purple light of an overhead sign, showing the two clubgoers pressing against each other. Silver found themselves absolutely intoxicated by Elvira's touch, her gloved hands reaching under their loose clothes, while their hands reached to do the same, slipping between the layers of fabric -- only to find that the latex encasement extended much, much further than just her hands.

"Oh! You've noticed..." Elvira stepped away for a moment, shedding her outer clothes in a single moment to reveal that she too was wearing a skintight suit, as dark as night, perfectly sculpted to her body. She cocked her hips, that infectious grin returning to her face. "You like it." It was phrased like a question, but the tone made it clear that it was a statement. "Kiss me, Silver."

The hapless creature couldn't help themselves, tumbling forwards into Elvira's slick, rubbery embrace, a moan emerging from their lips as they felt their own clothes being pulled away, letting more and more of their skin touch her latex. They didn't notice as they were slowly shifted and moved across the floor, right up until they were pushed backwards, falling into a firm, metal chair. They were stunned for a moment, just long enough for Elvira to fasten a set of clamps around their wrists and ankles.

"Wh-what? What the hell is this?"

"It's a conversion chair! It's gonna wipe you away and replace you with something better, don't worry!" The cheerful tone from Elvira was like a sickly sweet layer across a rotten core. "Just sit still, okay? It'll be easier that way." The girl flitted around Silver's squirming body, pressing electrodes into place on bare thighs and arms, wrapping straps around their biceps and neck, and finally placing a pair of contact pads on their temple.

"No, wait, stop! I, I don't want to be replaced, what does that--"

"Even mean? That's what everyone asks, but it won't matter, you'll be part of the Hive soon enough, then you won't need to know, or even be you! It'll be great, I promise! Alright, I gotta go, don't wanna get re-wiped! Have fun, cutie, cya soon!"

It had all happened in such a flurry that Silver hadn't even managed to start feeling fear, yet, not truly, but as the teasing tones of Elvira's voice drifted away, and the imposing sound of a heavy door slamming shut boomed through the dark, mirrored room, it began to set in. A twisting sensation in SIlver's gut, battling against the pulsing arousal that seemed to be at war with her mind, still beating in time to the dull bassline vibrating through the room.

As they waited, breathing heavily for something, anything to start happening, they seemed to spot a flicker of light out the corner of their eye. A flash of, text? A face? They couldn't tell, and by the time they could flick their vision across it was gone. The next moment, another flicker, from the other side. This time it almost became legible, a fading imprint on their vision reading only; OBEY.

A faint buzzing began to rise up from the base of the chair, and Silver gasped in shock as something pressed between their legs, grinding against their body, pulsating in time with their lust. The text flickered again at the edge of their vision, OBEY.

The imprint of the command lingered just long enough for it to coincide with a low humming that began to fill the room, a melody to the bassline still thumping through the floor, a droning noise that seemed to infinitely rise in pitch, yet never reached a climax. The text approached the centre of Silver's gaze, OBEY.

The vibrating implement between their legs kept pushing them higher and higher, their hips helplessly writhing back and forth. Their wrists and ankles twisted uselessly against the restraints, before a sudden electrical hum began to emanate from the pads Elvira had attached to their body and their limbs went completely limp and useless, no matter how they tried to strain and struggle. Wherever they looked, those four letters continued to flash, drilling into their mind, OBEY.

Everything was becoming too much to bear, too much sensation, too much lust, an overload on their mind, as their pleasure reached its peak, their body hit the edge -- and stayed there, a pulsing, throbbing, impossibly powerful blitz of sensation and pleasure, always in time to that infection beat drilling down through Silver's entire body. The text started to match it, steadily blinking in and out, OBEY

OBEY

OBEY

OBEY

The mirrors suddenly ignited in light, spiral patterns dragging Silver deeper and deeper, scrolling and twisting text combining with whispered messages played just below their hearing, telling them to OBEY, SINK, SUCCUMB

OBEY, SINK, SUCCUMB

A sudden shift as a new rhythm began playing beneath the roiling chaos, a grinding, whining, destructive bass drum thumping away at the very foundations of Silver's body, mind, and soul. The text was all-consuming, now, no longer were they struggling to look towards it, now the aim was to try and look away -- and they failed, every single time.

The pads on their temples began to throb and twitch, as the text blared out a command: REMEMBER YOUR FRIENDS. Unbidden, thoughts forced their way to the front of Silver's mind, pictures of happy faces, good memories, smiling people, flashes of the last. Then, it all cut out for a scant instant, a breath of anticipation. BLANK.

Everything kicked back in. And just like that, Silver's friends were all erased. No matter how hard they tried to focus their mind on the gaping wound in their memories that had just been opened up, nothing came. It was so hard to even begin to focus, with the twisting, wrenching sensations in their gut, the buzzing vibrations between their legs, the burning pleasure overloading everything, but they had to try! They had to, for the sake of... who?

REMEMBER YOUR FAMILY. The text screamed at them, and their mind obeyed. Memories of acceptance, warmth, care, the smell of home, all flooded in, in spite of Silver's desperate resistance, a scream escaping their lips before-

BLANK.

Nothing. There was nothing there, no matter how hard Silver stretched their mind. A tear rolled down their cheek, their face settling into a locked visage of despair. The text flashed one more time, an inevitable, brutally unstoppable command. REMEMBER YOUR SELF.

They couldn't stop it. They couldn't even bring themselves to try. They knew what would come next.

BLANK.

All while they were held on the edge, their personality shedding more and more layers as the overwhelming sensation of the chamber stripped them down, losing control of their own existence, losing track of where the creature known as Silver started and ended, their hold on reality slipping. New concepts were slammed into their mind by the spiralling text, the whispering voices, the buzzing, humming, pulsing music, everything designed to turn them from a "them" into an "it." Eventually, finally, ultimately, the crescendo came, and so did the thing that once called itself Silver.

When Elvira returned, cracking open the heavy door to the conversion chamber, she found it resting in the chair, body held perfectly rigid, a neutral expression on its face, nothing but emptiness behind its eyes. It looked to her as she entered, movements smooth, almost mechanical. "Unit #0194 reporting completed wipe. Ready to serve the Hive. What is your command?"

He hadn't even made it to the club yet, but Auryn already found himself tapping his foot along to the infectious pulse of the bassline radiating out from the door ahead of him. The queue had felt agonisingly slow, with what felt like half the city out in force to shuffle slowly forward towards the short, stocky bouncer he had been eyeing up ever since he caught sight of them. Soon enough, though, he found himself right in front of them, finally able to make out the badge on their coat, "#0194." His nervous eyes flicked down, finding an imposing pair of heeled boots leading up to a strangely shiny material on their legs, disappearing into the long coat of their uniform, but then-

"Present I.D."

Auryn quickly handed it over, cowed into silence by the powerful, if monotonous, voice. He shuffled his feet, looked around, anywhere but at them-

"Look at me."

He couldn't help but follow the command, as he fell into the bouncer's eyes, a deep, dark purple -- surely just from the light spilling out from the club -- which seemed to just swallow everything up.

"Suitability confirmed."
