This continues to be one of my favorite stories on Lit. Thank you for taking the time to leave it at a HFN. I understand the need to start over. Sometimes characters take a path on their own and you just have to follow it. I will be patiently waiting to see where Levi goes and how Ash continues to evolve. You are a fantastic writer and storyteller, captivating everyone's attention. Keep doing what you're doing.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I have been waiting for a bit to post as I wanted to think about it. But I’ve really liked what you had thus far. I’d love to see them fall in love and Levi know it’s ok to be vulnerable at times with his lover. Ash is getting more comfortable pushing and asking questions. His lack of direction is ok to me. I think I hurried too fast and would have been served well to have taken a gap year around college. Levi is nothing he expected to happen to him so I think he needs some time and something local to do after graduation (but close to Levi) while he/they figure themselves and each other out. I wonder if a Gap Year would give you time to develop their relationship before your next plot development. I’d really like to hear them tell each other that they love one another sooner than later. The brother could come around and be a support for Ash as his parents and others address their concerns about homosexuality. Does Ash get involved in the tannery as it grows and maybe employs more people and sells more online? There are so many directions for your work. Thanks again for sharing!

I've enjoyed the story, shame it didn't quite make it, but I have to agree with your reasons.

My take is that Levi is super confident and knowledgable, a role model for demons, but likes to watch people develop, with a little nudge here and there as required.. He doesn't really want to control, so I don't see him as a dom in the usual sense. His business and workshop is a great setting, semi isolated from the town and it's inhabitants. as it makes so many threads possible. I saw the story primarily about Levi & Ash, with other characters as required. I didn't think Levi's dom really worked, but I can see why you gave it a go.

Ash is still a blank slate. Despite what he has discovered, he is too passive and waits for Levi to give him the next piece. He doesn't have much drive or curiosity, which also (conveniently) means the tennis won't last long.

An interesting exploration of some background ideas, but didn't have a destination. Levi is definitely worth saving for another story.

Strand.

Last anon: Yeah, I feel bad recommending Hematoma to people who like Idolatria, because Hematoma was what I had to go through in order to get to a place where Idolatria came to me. Idolatria is Hematoma's aftercare.

Thank you!! I'm very grateful for the resolution of chapter 19 cliffhanger, and grateful for you summarizing what you had planned/ are planning. You write so visually and with depth that I couldn't leave this story alone throughout the years. Ash's journey to be with Levi is emotionally beautiful. And the kink scenes are scorching! Just the sound of Levi's voice while Ash is blindfolded, or asking him to feel worthy of his collar, takes me to yummy places. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one. (Purchased Amazon book. Also great, but I love this one a tiny bit more. )

My thoughts on where it might have gone from the end of Chapter 19: Ash sees Levi's reaction to Blondy and defends him (not unlike the girl did), Levi takes strength from Ash's commitment and finally puts Blondy behind him. Afterwards Levi is adoring his sub with beautiful rope work, possibly suspension, and Ash is on cloud 9. .... That was my hope for chapter 20. Haha. But clearly I can wait years for your words. I will be here when you're ready. Best wishes.

To anyone who doesn't really use this site anymore and feels like they'll have to keep checking for updates, you can use AO3 instead. I'm @Ashbel there (with an H) and I can more readily edit and update chapters through AO3's system; I've been simulposting Idolatria for some time over on their site. It's also easier to get email updates when I put something new up. I will, of course, still be using Literotica as well.

I’m the anon commenter from just a bit ago. Based on what you’ve just commented @Asbel, I will continue to check in on this site for your redo to the base story. And in the meantime I think I’ll go back and read from the beginning to look for those hints you mentioned. Whatever direction you take this story, I’m sure it will be exceptional.

Thank you for letting us see how far you’d gotten. I REALLY wanted to know what went down with Blondy!

I think it’s great that you’re scrapping this and starting again. Don’t get me wrong — I gobbled up each chapter and longed for more. But I particularly felt something was missing with Levi. The way he treated Ash at times like he was going through the motions to satisfy Ash’s curiosity, but not necessarily get what he needed out of it. I never got past how detached he was after they first had sex, considering how badly he’d wanted Ash (and “want” isn’t a strong enough word) ... The idea that Levi didn’t turn out the way you originally planned makes sense.

I look forward to seeing version 2. Take care of yourself, and these characters. :0)

Oh. My. God. This series is so good. This ending of it kind of blindsided me, but I'm not mad. If I think about it, I probably expected the story to segue into a painful coming out to Ash's family and a deepening of his relationship with Levi. And given how you've portrayed Ash's family, it would likely be uncomfortable and ugly, and there would be solace in submission and somehow Ash would more completely let that live alongside his faith. But I'm not an author and that all sounds very basic when I write it out like that. Honestly, not something I would enjoy reading except that your writing is so exceptional. I would like to read a scene with Janina finding out, although I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe because that all seems unfinished with her into Ash and Marc into her. Anyway, so beautiful, I loved it so much.
