And at the end with the sales clerk? Seemed a bit odd that the clerk would be saying anything, let alone telling him there's a surprise waiting for him. If the girlfriend wants to buy something in secret because she's guilty about the money being spent on her, telling the boyfriend about this is the perfect way to ruin that. Furthermore, he said she wasn't allowed to buy anything, yet threatened her with a good time if she did. Why is he in any way surprised at this outcome, let alone angry?
