Speaking as someone who has worn various types of armour in my time:

Getting out of armour never takes all that long. Generally just a minute or so to remove armour you're used to wearing regularily. I've seen guys go from 'walking tank' to 'clothes only' in astonishingly short time when they really want to. For example when there's a lightning storm coming overhead, that'll motivate you to drop the plate and chain with all haste.

It's getting INTO armour that's a bit more time consuming, getting everything assembled and strapped and fastened and correctly adjusted typically takes a number of minutes, even with help.

tldr: I liked your story a lot, don't sweat it about the small stuff

Most traditional armour be it Eastern or Western , light or heavy, hard or soft, required another's help to get in and out of. Even then it could take several minutes. Now consider that this is fantasy porn and throw everything I just said out the nearest window.
