As a near hopeless romantic how could I not love this short piece — smiled throughout. So real, so heartwarming.

I was so scared something would stop them from escaping that town! I didn’t grow up in that time, or in an environment like that, but I’m sure it too, immense guts for them to leave for the promise of freedom and each other. Bravo!

This was a sweet little delight. And even though it was short, the world building was very good, showing us a time and place that, while in the past, throws long shadows over the world we live in now.

I am so glad these girls got out of that small, yucky town and went to San Francisco successfully. I wanted them to be able to be together the way that is natural to them.
