This guy

Rather obviously experienced some of this, because very close to the same thing happened to me nearly 40 years ago. Right down to the shape of the craft and the hint of Lavender, almost a faint fog surrounding whatever it was.

Getting water, my own impression at the time.

I never saw any creatures, though.

I suspect there really are things out there we know little about.
