The last two paragraphs of this chapter tell us that Jamie really hasn’t changed much. Despite all his heartache and misery, instead of being patient and steadfast about earning Ben’s trust back, he says he’s had some offers but “backed out at the last minute”. What?! He should’ve completely ignored them without the least bit of consideration. “If I started having sex with other guys...” WTF? How could that even be a thought if he was so wrecked about what he did with a kiss to Ben. Then the clincher, “when I get to LA maybe I should look up Josh”. Fuck, he hasn’t changed. These thoughts would not even be possible if he truly loved Ben and was seriously hoping for a reconciliation. Damn, he is an immature selfish dumbass!
