Loving this. I hope the cat turns into a familiar.
Oh my goddess, I don't mean to sound like a giant jerk but it is SEKHMET NOT SAKHMET....it is insulting.
SAKHMET is an alternate spelling of the name that can be found. The thing that you have to remember is that these names are being translated from other languages and texts. Some are so old we are only guessing at how it's actually supposed to sound. It also needs to be remembered that not all languages are the same. For example, in Japanese the 'L' and 'R' sound are the same. If you listen to them it sounds like the two got together and had a baby. A lot of the standardized spelling that we have for translation is for consistency's sake and not because that's the only possible way that one could translate it.
I love this story. There are still some flow problems for me. The wording and stuff just feels clunky to me sometimes. I, however, love and adore the story so much that it's more than worth it.
PS- Nanites that are living? Isn't that like bacteria or some other microorganism. Oh wait, nanoorganism! LOL I'm just razzin' ya. (I still say nanites are man mad microorganisms.)
