Jackie, I finally had the time to sit down and enjoy this tale properly. The imagination and detail you put into all of your stories sets you in a class of authors above on this site, but this particular one is of the highest quality. Your characters, the scenery, and the plot all work harmoniously to suck the reader in and make us wish for our own sword to join the fray. Thank you for sharing this epic and I can't wait to read more! xo

I really love your stories. Being a fan of historical fiction works of Frederick Marryat, C.S. Forrester, Patrick O'Brien, Dewey Lamdin and others I really appreciated the effort put into the Age of Sail descriptions and battle, it was very professionally done 👍👍👍

...a very enjoyable fantasy romp. I do wonder if you intend to use newly-appointed Rear-Admiral Sterling---you used quite a lot of narrative about him, and while the main point was about the "Elven Princess", it would be a shame to waste a character (I think the Chekov's Pistol principle applies here).

In your post-script you mention the song Lilac Wine. If you don't already know them, I can recommend Eartha Kitt's and Elkie Brooks's covers of the song.

Your bond to this magic pencil is stargazing to find this special one out in the aether ….. fighting pirats in the disguised form so nobody can track her down, practicing her technique and killing orcs while saving lifes … And now the aether bond and the upcoming destruction of bella donna!? ….. you trying my patience
