The existential question behind the story related was the value ( or lack thereof ) of truth. Karen pushed all her chips into living " the Big Lie ", denying the conclusive evidence and attacking /slandering the messenger when those tactics failed. The husband was a liar as well , but a veritable Stoic Philosopher King, Marcus Aurelius reincarnate by way of contrast to his spouse.

Karen might have blighted future in her old field, but no doubt can catch on at Koch Think Tank or Washington DC lobbyist. Omarosa just got forcefully escorted out of White House according to reports. So there's room at the top for individuals who abhor truth and can unblushingly obfuscate away patently obvious contradictions.

As for this story? The theme was provocative. The characters seem to be a sign of the style impaired sign of the times and slagging the author is futile as he merely conveys the dicey message.

How many times did I have to read "It's not what you think" blabla?

It reads too much like an author fixation, getting off on catching the wife-whore blabla in a lie. I mean, same old story: if the husband is that dumb to not be able to recognize the cookie cutter whore wife, why should the odds be any better with the next woman down the line?

As for logging on various times, I believe that charge may be leveled at LEAST as much at the anti-BTB crowd as at the BTB crowd. ...is that for all of the complaining about what types of stories belong in LW, none of us, including sbrooks and luedon, have any say in it. If any of you took the time to look at older stories then you would notice that these arguments have been going on for as long as comments have been allowed. And in all of that time LW has never changed.

Going back to at least 2002 you can find stories that fit into the consequence/btb, swinging/sharing, and cuckold/wittol subgenres of LW. You can find stories that could easily fit into another category and would probably do much better than in LW (that includes most consequence/btb stories). You will find comments about a story being non-erotic, or should be in fetish, or in romance, or in group, or in one of the other categories.

I have also found them to be fruitless. They have also lost their entertainment value as of late. These comments, and the discussion of what stories go here, are the exact same ones that were happening almost 2 decades ago. Only the names have changed. My guess is that years from now, new heros and villains will take up arms to continue the fight.

All and all... this was fun! Karen got exactly what she deserves, at the end, and Larry also managed to get some payback from her father, which is a nice bonus. I don't know why so many readers are so up in arm with Larry hooking up with Sasha - I think it's clear he may be dumb enough to marry one worthless slut, but not two in a row. Sash gonna be a FWB til he found the woman of his dream... not bad, especially since it will piss off his ex even more.

The lesson here: don't get married if you're not ready for marriage... especially if there's a prenup involved.

I like consequences to both cheating parties, severe consequences involving cheaters families, friends, and coworkers, etc. I just found this story, so I missed the discussion. A married woman who makes more than her husband is less likely to cheat than a married woman who makes less than her husband. However, if a married men makes less than his wife or more than his wife, he is more prone to cheater, and cheats the least when equal incomes.
