The word is "Halloween" not as spelled in the story of "Hallowe'en" makes for doubts whether to read or not.
Yes, Hallowe'en is a contraction of Hallow Even which is itself a contraction of All Hallow's Eve or Evening.
Thanks guys for your comments (and thank you to the person who sent me a pm with nice feedback). It's all much appreciated - was relieved when the 2nd and 3rd comment arrived to confirm my correct use of Hallowe'en - maybe it's a traditional thing or perhaps even just a UK thing?
Cheers, guys.
i'm the 2nd poster. It's fairly obvious to anyone with critical thinking that when one goes to the effort of including the contraction in Hallowe'en, one tends not to be mistaken. Regretably, there are those unfortunates who seize on any excuse to assert their inner editor, whether justified or otherwise.
not all of us yanks are wankers.
You seem to have missed the description of her costume which was a major distraction for me. And you need to learn more about when there should be a paragraph - to make it easier for the reader to read. You make paragraphs for unknown reasons breaking up ideas in the story - other times should have paragraph breaks but none exist. Shame
